OMG! I always LOVED Aliens and Predator!

Alien was pretty neat, but when I watched Predator I classed it down as the dumbest movie I ever watched fully. (Guess that doesn’t speak well for me…)

Not necessarily GB…We all have our opinions. 😀
    I thought 1408 was a real mind warp… 😉

Oh, I didn’t mean in my taste in movies, but rather that I watched the dumb thing from start to finish instead of turning it off when it annoyed me, as I usually do. 🙂

OMG! You just reminded me… in highschool, I watched both Pet Semetary and couldn’t watch it until the end. Another one that really bugged me then was Lord of the flies. Didn’t read the book but watched the movie and man, did it ever haunt me.

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Well for me it was Night of the Living Dead
I convinced my dad to let me watch it on Creature Features a local scary movie guy on channel 2 at like 10PM growing up. Was SURE I could handle it at age 7, I think it was but when I had to go to bed that night I was convinced that the zombies where coming out of my closet to get me. My mom was Pissed that I got to watch it. My cousin that is 6 years younger then me was about he same age 7-8 when he and his family saw the Empire Strikes Back and Carrie Fisher and Chewy where in the Lobby, or at least someone dressed up like them was, and 1/2 way thru the movie JJ, my cousin started to get on his moms lap but my aunt could not figure out why.
Later he said that if Princess Leia and Chewy could be in the lobby he was SURE that Yoda was under his seat and going to get him

You’re going to laugh, but some movie with huge eyeballs with tenacles did it for me! Can’t remember the name (Crawling Eye) and this is a looooooong time ago! Freaking out with these things grabbing people and holding them up to ‘eyeball’ them–really forgot what the eyeballs did to them. In the end they were all burned up. My dad then made a comment ‘See the eye is cooked–ready to eat!’ Now you know why I’m warped! 😈 Oh and ‘The Blob’, let’s not forget the Blob! 😆 Looking back at these now I think to myself–what a dweeb! 🙄

And years later, when I became a ‘legal’ adult ‘Night of the Living Dead’ messed with my mind! Didn’t want to be left alone for a while after that! Oh, let’s not forget ‘Psycho’–real leary about showers after that. This is from a kid who at an early age (6 or 7) would sit up and watch the series ‘Thriller’. My mom couldn’t understand how I could watch this thing and not get nightmares! Well I guess it all caught up to me–can’t watch these type of movies anymore! 😮

Ok for me it was definitely Nightmare on Elm Street. Waaay too young at the time, my friends and I kinda knew that, but our parents would let us watch almost anything… We were like 5 years old LOL! To this day I still remember having this reoccurring nightmare of being trapped in this dimly lit tiny hot room framed in dark oak wood, padded walls with candy cane and dark red colored cloth, and Freddy standing there at the entrance, blocking the only way out. He had this freaking scary looking grin on his face, and his eyes were glowing red. I can’t remember how many times I had that dream, it was a lot, but every time I started having that dream I would have trouble breathing and wake up gasping for air. LOL Mental note, don’t let my future 5 year old watch movies like Nightmare on Elm Street. 😕

LOL… it’s amazing what kids will watch these days. I was giving an animal presentation for our camp kids one summer, and I was trying to explain the concept of camouflage. This one kid grasped the concept and just yells out all excited, “Like the Predator!”

Um, yeh… like the predator. And I’m thinking… how old are these kids? Ages 7 – 10… seriously?? 😮

He he, my parents let me watch scary movies as far back as I can remember. Probably one of many reasons I’m desensitized to violence and gore. Not saying I’d let my own kids watch these movies, but I seemed to have turned out OK. Except when I’m angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry 👿

Yeah, I was 8 when I saw my first scary movie…The Shinning. LOL My mom still doesn’t know I stayed up and watched it with the babysitter! But then again, I had a pretty cool babysitter then…I can’t remember it giving me nightmares, but I was hooked after that. I’ve watched a lot of scary movies since then, but honestly I have no want or need to watch the Faces of Death movies. My kid watched those with his friends. Ugh, movies have sure progressed in the horror category since I was a kid! *twitch twitch*

Oh boy, I can sure name two. Time Bandits, especially the scene at the end with the microwave oven, and Dragonslayer because it was just so wrong. And bad. :negative:
