What are ya’ll doing for Mothers Day? Giving? Getting?
I just ordered raised gardens for my mom with seeds. She loves to garden and I just saw a movie called Food, inc that made me want to start gardening, too. I ordered her flowers too.
What about you guys? Any plans?

Male Hearth....one day๐คDream on.April 27, 2010 at 3:19 pm #813088i’m making a little book for my mom… hopefully will have time to finish it!
April 27, 2010 at 4:17 pm #813089Not planning much here. Mom just had hernia surgery this morning (she’s awake, already spoke with her on the phone, and she’ll be home before I have to go to work). Just the usual helping around the house and some flowers or something. Bigger plans are being had for her birthday in June (Dad’s is in May). We’re going out to dinner for both birthdays at their selected choices. ๐
April 28, 2010 at 1:04 am #813090I got my best Mother’s Day present early when we adopted a sweet little girl Pug from Pug Rescue a week ago. ๐ Other than that, we plan on going to Cheesecake Factory for dinner that day and I’m hoping for Avatar on DVD. ๐
April 28, 2010 at 1:13 am #813091This will be the 3rd one without my mom and 4th without my grandma
My cats will snuggle me but that is normal for them. I hope I get all 4 at a time that day though
yeah I consider myself both mommy and daddy for my kitties but they do not give me gifts thoughApril 28, 2010 at 1:19 pm #813092Ya’ll just made me think of something… I ordered Avatar, but I think I ordered it on DVD instead of Bluray. ๐
I ordered Real Genius and Little Shop of Horrors, too. I have been on a spending spree… mostly shoooooes.
April 29, 2010 at 1:52 am #813093What kind of shoes? Don’t you have to be in uniform most of the time?

Designer shoes. I am having them sent to the house so they will be there when I get back. I figured I can buy them slightly used and pay a quarter of the price. Yeah, some may say buying used shoes is gross, but I am not one of them. Folks who pay $600 for shoes generally take care of their shoes and their toes. ๐
April 29, 2010 at 12:57 pm #813095$600.00?shoes?*choking,aagghghhhg….” ๐ฎ Never,not me…wow.We do have our own addicions don’t we ๐ I will pay that for a Windstone though ๐

I know eh? Shoes don’t last long enough for me to pay that much for them. 2 years max, I’m really hard on my shoes (my steeltoes that I bought 2 months ago are already showing wear and tear…. ๐ )
As for mother’s day… it’d be giving. But I don’t know what, my mom is stupid hard to shop for, and I can’t fall back on the regular mother’s day fare, because she’s allergic to most of them. ๐ I will be going out to lunch with her and dad on the 2nd though, but that’s mostly for their anniversary on the 3rd then anything (30 years! ๐ ).

LOL I know, right?
I love sandals but the only ones I am willing to pay a lot of money for are currently out of stock… so I have saved myself $500.
April 29, 2010 at 3:31 pm #813098…and normally I would not spend that much on shoes, but with the tax free and combat pay, I can get a little crazy… we need our little pleasures out here.
April 29, 2010 at 3:45 pm #813099This Mother’s Day is going to be rough on my mom — she just lost her mother in January. So this year I’m going to take her out to one of her favorite restaurants, maybe Applebee’s or Olive Garden, and see if there’s a movie she’d like to go to. If not a movie, we’ll go shopping and I’ll let her pick out a nice outfit or pair of shoes.
