She wanted a crescent moon and blue. I’m finding the blue is giving the impression of night, with the moon and the stars on the scales. Though I’m not satisfied with the pictures: they’re making the blue come out too much in the fur. It’s really a lot more subtle than that…

March 16, 2008 at 3:55 pm #679774I’m lovin’ it!!! Very unique!!! π
March 16, 2008 at 4:50 pm #679775I like how you made the crescents a little different in size: it’s a nice touch. One could be the moon near the horizon–where it looks larger–and the other the moon high in the sky. π So was lapping the right moon slightly onto the belly scales: it looks as if you took advantage of the shape of a couple of scales at the edge of the belly? Great idea! Overall this ki-rin is a fine presentation of the theme and I bet Serenity is tickled pink by it! π

Yes, yes I am tickled about it! “Tribal 2” is the trade piece for the KiRin!!! π

Actually, it was an accident π But I was glad the line ended up there!

March 16, 2008 at 10:45 pm #679779He’s really cool, I love how the blue shows up on the fur parts, the moons look great too. π

A convenient accident, then. π The curve of the crescents is flawless; I could never manage something that smooth. Me and symmetry don’t seem to get along very well. π
March 17, 2008 at 9:32 am #679781Cool!
March 17, 2008 at 12:52 pm #679782I also like how the crescents are different sizes, and how the larger one overlaps–very nicely done! π
