April 11, 2008 at 12:12 am #688770Well this one is based on the harvest moon. (The red moon during fall, even though it means strong winds and sometimes bad weather)
April 11, 2008 at 12:13 am #688771I’m still loving the scales on that one!

Let’s see if I can remember…. interference red oxide, interference green, interference gold, bronze (looked the same as the gold 🙄 ), and copper. The brown scales…. base coat of…. (I don’t remember but, it was really dark) with maple sugar (folk art) as a top coat.
April 11, 2008 at 1:37 am #688777cool…where did you find the interference red oxide….
April 11, 2008 at 1:49 am #688778I get my golden paints from a art school in Guelph. It’s cheaper than Micheals…. I don’t know where they get them…. I need to ask if they have the interference since they don’t have them listed on their web page.
Not sure but, I may have seen the oxide red and green listed on Dick Blick…. Yes, just checked and they have oxide violet as well. The possibilities…..
April 11, 2008 at 1:56 am #688779hmm…I’ll have to check that out…
April 11, 2008 at 5:16 am #688780The oxide colors that Golden makes are really neat. I’ve been having some fun with iron oxide red and yellow, and violet oxide has come in handy on several pieces. Haven’t tried oxide green yet, or many of the oxide interference colors.
