I never thought that buying regular foods would become a “treat”… in one store here a gallon of “name brand” milk is over $5.00 a gallon!!! 😯
Food is going to go up again in price since the corn farmers are not planting as much corn as they did last year…. again…
April 3, 2008 at 5:11 pm #686017I think things will continue until we can get some new blood in the White House, unfortunately. Food is going up to reflect the new gas prices, and almost all the corn farmers plant is going for ethanol, which, by the way, isn’t the best alternate energy source, so farmers are planting less. I only hope that all of us will have better opportunities in 2009, and someone who will fight for the working class, and not just the rich.
April 3, 2008 at 5:55 pm #686018Shandi I hope things get a lot better for you soon it sounds like the people in your church are great hang on to them and maybe someday you’ll be in a position to help someone else like they are helping you now. I am glad you horse got well it is very hard to have a sick pet you worry so much about them and they can’t tell you exactly where they hurt. I am just very greatful that when my dog needed emergency care and surgery in September I had the money to do it because it ended up costing me $6,000 but to me Tristen is worth every penny of it. But ouch it did put quite a dent in my emergency fund.
BRos you said gas was $10 where you live. How do you afford it I would have to get a bicyle.
Pipsxlch I hope your health problem is beign and everything comes out OK.

I have about a 5th grade math level,a doctor said many years ago if there was math dyslexia I have it. I tend to flip numbers and see numbers that aren’t there.
I’m a very bad receptionist, can’t hear well and always mess up the spelling and names of clients.
So what can I do for a job? I just want something part time.I love to do anything crafty. I’m good with horses and dogs.
I really feel for you!!And I’m so glad that you do have a fairly good local support network, maybe they can help you out with finding that part time work.
Your “Mystery Pain, is also called Fybromyalgia if it’s in the Joints. And they’re never sure if it’s the insomnia that causes it or a symptom!!
😕 😕 And they hate diagnosing it in young people, so will just beat around the bush instead. 👿And the “Math dyslexia” I’ve been told is called “Discalculis”
I’d like the thought of “Foal Watch” if I had your experience!! Or dare I say it, go Kitsche and paint Mailboxes and such for the masses, and sell through local Craft Sales, Farmer’s Market’s & Such? Your work is beautiful, and I’ve no doubt it would sell, but there’s no accounting for some people’s tastes, and those who might buy your regular Work may not know they want it until they see it hidden among what they think they want!! Think Horses in a field painted on a wooden Breakfast tray, Tray $5, Paint $10, Tray sold for $50, kinda thing. My Mom and Nan knit sweaters, and make Quilts, they usually only sell them for around $10 more than cost of materials, but then see what others are selling things for and discover it’s more than double the cost of materials.
But it would help you keep doing your art, and yet still making more $$. Then again this is Canadian Experience talking. 😀
Here’s hoping things get better for all of us.
