I know I am not the only one…but it sure seams so. There just isn’t enough money to make ends meet. I can’t sell anything lately and to make matters worse is my hubby puts a 100 miles a day on his crappy car which eats gas.
I tried to pay bills and I can’t do it. Oue Electric bill is three months behind and 500.00 the phone bill is 2 months behind and is 125.00.
I have no choice I’m going to have to jump back into the job world. I was a Vet. Tech for 13 years and I’m not sure menatally I could handle going back to it. I haven’t handled money since I was 19,so cashiering terrifies me. I managed apartments for 8 year and HATED it. So where does that leave me?
I scour the want ads on a daily basis….
I am good with animals.I’m strong. I am very good with my hands.
Things I know hinder me. I suffer from CPS( cronic pain sydrome) fancy name for they have no clue why I hurt. Standing for long periods cripples me. I’m not a good teacher. I get my ruff up when people are lazy. I have about a 5th grade math level,a doctor said many years ago if there was math dyslexia I have it. I tend to flip numbers and see numbers that aren’t there. I’m a very bad receptionist, can’t hear well and always mess up the spelling and names of clients.
So what can I do for a job? I just want something part time. Something that will suppliment our income and help us to at least pay the bills!
I’m a good artist. I love to do anythng crafty. I’m good with horses and dogs.I’m so depressed. I feel like I’m drowning.
April 2, 2008 at 2:07 pm #494927April 2, 2008 at 2:16 pm #685988🙁 I’m so sorry Shandi. It’s really going around, though; it’s not just you!
What about animal sitting? I used to babysit pets and people really appreciate knowing their animals don’t have to go to the kennel. People with horses too, need someone good with horses when they go… try putting an add in the classifieds.
What about working with art in a school? I know you said you don’t like teaching, but what if it was just a supplemental session, like with afterschool groups, girlscouts, whatever… or even homeschool groups?
Hmm… give me a bit and I’ll come up with more.In the meantime, hang in there! Things are tight right now, but it’ll get better!
*hugs*April 2, 2008 at 2:21 pm #685989I don’t know how many horse farms are around you, But this is foaling time and people need foal watch at night.
April 2, 2008 at 2:24 pm #685990Yeah everything is getting way to expensive now. I was able to find some cheap gas the other day ($3.09 a gallon I never thought I would call that cheap). The gas and electric rates for my state have gone through the roof too. They deregulated the gas and electric company a year or two ago and they have raised their rates big time. My bill used to rarely go over $100 a month and now its over $300 a month. I can’t keep up with it anymore and they are going to raise it again in July. I’m going to have to start working 60+ hour weeks again but its hard to do with a new baby.
April 2, 2008 at 2:25 pm #685991*hugs* House/animal sitting is a great way to supplement your income. The hubby and I do it, and it’s like going on a little vacation – and getting paid!
I hope things work out for you soon.
April 2, 2008 at 4:07 pm #685992Welcome to the club. I just found out I will owe $7,743 to the feds and $993 to teh State and have NO idea how I’m going to pay them along with all he other bills. My HOA dues ended up in collections too. In Northern CA we are closing in on $4 a gallon for gas

Ouch! I hope it all works out.
April 2, 2008 at 4:27 pm #685994Thanks. I keep remembering the Secret that if you ask the universe to bring you things it eventually will. I keep asking for OT and I have gotten some here and there. I’m just working on 1 bill at a time right now. I will not be buying many Windstones as I’m sure you can guess. I hope IO can finish the Golds before they go bye bye. I’m not sure when that will be, but you never know
April 2, 2008 at 4:27 pm #685995If you convert liters to gallons I am paying $4.30 a gallon here, that does not take into cosideration for the dollar though.
Have you looked at perhaps an office job at an SPCA?
April 2, 2008 at 4:29 pm #685996I have not started looking for a 2nd job yet. I’m going thru the 1 year memorial for my mom at the end of the month before I start looking.
I do not have much time though. I work in San Ramon 10-6:30 amd it’s 1:30 to and from so I’m off limits basically 7:30AM to 8PM. I need to find something near that job after work to make it workI don’t think I could work for the SPCA I would not be able to know that animals would go under and be OK with that. I already have 4 cats I can’t do more animals here now
My cousin may need a place to stay soon and maybe I can have her stay here and pay some rent but we are not sure how that will pan out
April 2, 2008 at 5:08 pm #685997Im sorry, too. I honestly hope you go back to working with animals. They need all the help they can get.
April 2, 2008 at 5:42 pm #685998Sending good thoughts to everyone….I hope things look up for you soon!
April 2, 2008 at 6:23 pm #685999Things are bad all over in FL it’s the insurance, taxes, foreclosures, gas, food, everything seems to be going up up and up except wages. I hope things get better for everybody in the USA soon. HOA dues are out of site.
To add another money problem the stock market just keeps going down and the interest rates paid on CD’s, etc. down down down – not good
Speaking of HOA’s if I ever move I am at a point where I don’t care if my next house is a two room shack in the middle of nowhere as long as there is no gates, no guards and no HOA. I bought this one because I had the opportunity to get one of the model homes lock, stock and furniture and I thought that I was lucky – at the time.
April 2, 2008 at 6:38 pm #686000I have two HOA’s which I didn’t know about when I bought my house 😕 They don’t send me to collections they just threaten a lien on my house.
