Sorry if this isn’t supposed to be here; I wasn’t sure where the best place to ask this question would be. 😳

Is anyone out there one or can you reccomend a really good model horse painter? For a while now I’ve wanted to get my hands on a certain model as the model is based off my horse’s sire (Pyt 325) & it really looks just like my guy. I’ve found one that is a great price but he’s already been painted a shaded dun & I would like him black like my horse so here I am. 🙂 I actually have a friend who is a pretty well known artist but she is booked forever (and really pricey! Heh!).

I’m not looking to show this horse or anything like that; just want him at home. I don’t know much about painting but I do know I want him a true black and not a sunburt black like I’ve seen alot of the friesian models have been painted. So whoever paints him is going to need to know how to get some depth on the model without using brown. 😉

Anyways if you have any suggestions of painter please either reply here or PM me. I’d especially appreciate it if you can link me to the artists past work & even better if there are examples of all black past horses.

        Thank you!

I’d be willing to bet you would be great at it! 🙂

Ladybrooklyn (she doesn’t really post here much… I’d have to see if I could find her on AIM) does model horse painting with powders. She’s the one I’ve learned how to use powders and how to dapple from. I’ve never done a Breyer model myself (just Windstones), but I know she does Breyer and a few other equine models. I’m not sure what her schedule is though.

              Her Windstone profile: http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=183
Her website of her work: http://community.webshots.com/user/desertsunstudios

I don’t know what her rates are, but it never hurts to ask. 🙂
