Hi Melody,
I was wondering if you’d ever considered doing mirror image poses of at least the male dragon? I have one sitting on one side of my piano and it would be fun to have another facing the other direction in the same sort of ‘interested listening’ pose; partly because I appreciate symmetry and partly because I would have an audience that would be sympathetic to my attempts at playing said piano 🙄 ! Thanks, twindragonsmum 😀

October 14, 2007 at 10:55 pm #626564Thats wild that you came up with this question. I was thinking about how, now that I have several of the sdame sculpt, how it would be neat to have them in slightly different positions so they looked like they were communicating etc. Like the male and female griffins are in great positions cause one faces the other.
I guess of course, if she changed the position of something, it wouldnt be the same sculpt- but Im more getting at the same sculpt but flipped in the other direction… mirror image like you said. I just didnt think to bring it up to her. But wild how you plucked it from the air- which is mostly what my head is made of these days.

I am sculpting a mirror image Flion right now (it was the old Flion that I was just going to fix, but it ended up being completely re-sculpted)I like having things in pairs, particularly the sitting up ones.

October 15, 2007 at 3:46 am #626567I think that’s a great idea

October 15, 2007 at 7:47 am #626569On that note, the flap cats would look nicely like this too.
October 15, 2007 at 5:40 pm #626570I think she’s already started sculpting a mirror flap cat…there was a picture of it somewhere…
I was just thinking about this, too! 😀 Though I was thinking of the male griffin…

-J R R TolkienOctober 15, 2007 at 6:54 pm #626571The male dragon comes to mind for me. He’s always been my favorite sculpt. I’d love to see him in another pose facing the opposite direction, but not necessarily a mirror image.

I totally agree – a true mirror image wouldn’t be nearly as neat as the same sculpt facing the opposite direction with a slightly different pose than the first. That keeps them seeming like real alive things, instead of statues!

Yes, that’s what I was thinking. Just couldn’t find the right wording 🙄 . Had a brain glitch!
