The b/f and I took a mini vacation to Tampa Bay, FL for the Gasparilla Priate Festival and I thought it was great. We stood on the bridge for the pirate invasion and I got a lot of beads, rubber duckies and other objects people threw from the boats going under the bridge. When the pirate ship came into the bay you wouldn’t believe the noise – like cannons being fired, etc. Just after the priate ship came into the bay the memory card said it was used up so I didn’t get many pictures but the ones I did came out well. Unfortunately it started to rain just as the actual festatives began and we got soaked (the umbrella was left in the car). We decided to skip the parade down Bayshore Blvd because of the weather and us being very wet but I told the b/f I would like to back next year if it was warm and sunny. On Sunday we went up to Tarpon Springs, which is the old Greek settlement north of Tampa. Unfortunately it was COLD. We spent 4 days looking around the area and it was cold and rainey every day but we still had a good time. We were returning on Tuesday – Monday night I came down with the worst case of flu I have had in my life (I did get both flu shots but that sure didn’t help) and spent the rest of the day Tuesday and Wedneday and so far today in bed.
Here are a few picstures I took at the Gasprilla Festival and from them you can tell what a rainy day it was. .
Its unfortunate about the weather and the flu, but at least you had fun. I’d like to see pics because it sounded really neat. 🙂 My husband wants to be a pirate when he retires… maybe you can hook him up?
