Some idiots at work…but I think the Klingon agonizer would be better than vaporizing them. 😈 Actually, these people are at an outside company that my company’s hired to do chip designs for us. They don’t do what they’ve committed to, and are always late with their action items. And they have the gall to come back 4 months before the chip design is due to be finished and say that they haven’t put in features that were discussed and specified a year ago…December 12, 2006 at 3:43 pm #515869ruffian wrote:here ya go:

I hate it when people don’t do as they say they will and it directly affects your productivity and metrics! Seems so unfair to be judged by other people’s less-than-satisfactory performance as your own
December 12, 2006 at 3:50 pm #515871For real. Anything you can do? Guess its too late to fire them, hu?
December 12, 2006 at 3:59 pm #515872Well, I’ve had to escalate this so now the design VP is aware of these issues…and these people are under scrutiny now. They’ve gotten nasty emails from me and several other managers last week…so hopefully they’ll clean up their act. But if not — then their CEO might end up hearing about it, and we’re their largest customer by far. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that… And unfortuately we can’t get rid of these idiots right now but I would definitely celebrate if we ever do… 😈
But the main problem is that these idiots are wasting a lot of my time and I have too much other crap I need to get done before the Christmas shutdown as it is. Sometimes I feel like going into the padded closet and screaming… 😡

Fortunately I have everything documented so its very clear who’s at fault. But of course, if the project goes badly everyone looks bad no matter whose fault it is…December 12, 2006 at 4:09 pm #515874Yeah, but it still is nice when fingers cant be pointed at you!
December 12, 2006 at 4:11 pm #515875Very true!
