March 28, 2011 at 7:07 pm #840966Wow Bodine, this is gorgeous! I love how your pieces have subtle color differences within one overarching color scheme – you’ve got a really natural touch to your dragons that make them look so lifelike and beautiful!

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.March 28, 2011 at 8:14 pm #840973🙂 Aren’t you sweet 🙂 Thank you, love them powders. You can mix and blend one on top of the other in sutle color changes that you can’t see in my pics :)Wish I could take better photos. This is one of my favorites. It has eight different colors on it.And then sometimes I paint with the paints but I really like the powders dry best. 🙂

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.March 28, 2011 at 9:06 pm #840977Yeah, Sagi was telling me that you use mostly powders – that’s so cool! If you don’t mind me asking, do you put the powders on in powder form, or do you mix them with a medium first? I’ve only worked with them a little bit, but I’m always interested to know what everyones techniques are 🙂 If you work with them dry, how do you get them to stick?
I have to look away when I open up a jar, just the slightest air current gets them swirling around! You must have so much patience!

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.March 29, 2011 at 6:56 pm #841058I use them in the dry form. After I base coat, when it is still not hard dried, the powders will adhere to it.I have three different size brushes, all make-up brushes.I think that is the trick.I also spray clear coat very lightly in between main color shifts. It takes to the clear coat well too,dry not tacky on the clear though.Only use very little powder on the brush at the time. You can layer the colors one on top of the other for the “peacock feather”look. The chest scales on the copper colored keeper actually is four colors layered but it does not show well, sorry. That’s my way.Hope it helps 🙂 It is good to learn other artist’s ways, please share some of your “know-how” knowledge too.Never can learn too much. 😉
