I use firefox on my Mac, I love them both.
siberakh1 if use windows in bootcamp on a mac it is totally partitioned from your mac, so you could use windows for the stuff you HAVE to use it for, and use the Mac side for the important stuff. DH’s MacBookPro has 4 or 6 OS’s running on it, but he is a dork, LOL.
December 17, 2008 at 9:18 pm #746013I use a Mac myself (with Windows on it for the rare occasions I need it) and firefox is my browser of choice.
At work (windows XP-based environment) our security admins won’t let Chrome on the network. They’ve even set up the anti virus software to uninstall Chrome if anyone puts it on the machines!

Yeah. The new Mac OS lets you dual boot without restarting your machine, which I really like. I’m really tempted. The only thing that bugs me is the cost, plus if you want any new memory, you can’t just take the computer apart. You have to take it to a Mac store (which there is one nearby, but it’s the techie principal of liking to do it yourself when you already know how and have the degree to do so :D). Heheh.. does your brother use VMware for the OS’s, or are they all partitioned? Sounds like something I would do just because I could! I think right now though, it will be a toss up between Mac (because of the dual boot feature) or Ubuntu (I really need an Ubuntu box to play with at home, besides at work…).
December 18, 2008 at 5:17 am #746015LOL DH is my other half, “dear husband”, I have no clue WTF he has done to it, he put windows 3.1 on last night though 😀 .
He has most of his in Parallels, which is the one that you can switch from OS to OS with “command + enter”, I had windows me on bootcamp, but I took it off, but I still have windows 98 in parallels, I just hate windows.
December 18, 2008 at 6:01 am #746016I had to laugh when I read about your hubby have 6 operating systems on his Mac. He really must like diversity!
December 18, 2008 at 8:07 am #746017Mozilla for me…I had so much trouble with IE I gave it up over a year ago. I don’t think I could beat Firefox though. It is fast, refreshes quickly and I don’t deal with popups. Once ina while AVG puts out an upgrade that messes with it, but a restart usually cures that. Bugs…everything has them! 😕
December 18, 2008 at 4:04 pm #746018Just so everyone knows Microsoft has a patch out now to “fix” the issue.

*haha! Sorry about that!

*shudders* You said a nasty thing… ‘Windows ME’. *goes and grabs the soap* 😛 HAHA! Windows 3.1! I miss 98 second ed. I really enjoyed using it. I used it all through college until I had to upgrade to XP (which I don’t find too bad if I had to choose, but I miss some of the administrative aspects of 98se). 🙂
December 18, 2008 at 5:33 pm #746020I miss Windows 98SE as well. I skipped ME completely. Had 98SE until summer of 2004 when I tried to reformat the computer to help it run better…only to discover that I had a bad factory provided re-install disc (was missing install.exe ). We bought a new computer with XP on it since no one we knew had a 98 install cd we could use. It took some searching, but I found how to change the settings so it functions more like 98 than XP so that’s how it runs. Hubby’s laptop has Vista on it and that’s not too bad.
