My art: featherdust.comDecember 17, 2008 at 12:03 am #746000I used to use Netscape excusively for the longest time. I’ve been chicken to give the others (Firefox and Chrome) a try since I’ve gotten so used to IE.

I’m using Firefox right now, and it’s very close in form and function to IE. It’s even faster for the most part except for scrolling up and down a page.
December 17, 2008 at 12:20 am #746002I Love my firefox. The pop-up blocker *actually works!!!*
I’ve never looked back to IE. I hate IE. It annoys me (I can’t just hit ctrl – T to get a new tab, lol, or at least not on this computer.)
December 17, 2008 at 12:22 am #746003The only thing that becomes a hassle are websites that don’t respond well outside of IE because they are poorly coded. I’ll have to try Chrome and see how that works. Mostly my webmail gives me a hassle with the login. *blech*
December 17, 2008 at 12:48 am #746004Necron when I try the link it says general error 🙁 😕

LOL! The irony. I’ve been using firefox for the longest time now and I only had problems with some sites not accepting it when i first started using it. I also like all the add-ons you can get for it. I use mouse gestures all the time and script blocker keeps things nearly overly safe and using it you don’t see most annoying banner ads.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

This surprises me, because it’s in IE6 that my website breaks. And *only* IE6. I used browsershots.org to check this. It makes me consider putting in a code to block IE6.
The only site I had break/become unusable with Firefox was Homestead’s sitebuilder stuff, but I had outgrown them anyway.
Upgrade to Firefox or Chrome, you’ll be happier for it.

See, that’s the thing. My login doesn’t want to work in Firefox for my webmail access (since I don’t always login to my laptop at home… I’m holding out to get a new one this year sometime… looking into my options – Mac, Windows 7 when it comes out IF it is liveable (I’ve got too much software that I can’t afford to go totally windows free just yet… Vista is only a bug or two better than ME *blech*.. actually I know a better analogy, but it isn’t proper for this board *evil grin*), or Ubuntu. Ideally, I’d love all three systems!) Also, some stuff for my fraternity (their exam grading section) only works in IE (again, poor coding). There are glitches that kick out the exams in other browsers, so that they don’t submit correctly. Any websites I’ve worked with I’ve made sure to test them in other browsers for formatting.
Normally, I use Firefox for most things. Faster with less junk, and some pretty nice plugins. Heck, I use Ubuntu (Unix) at work on one of my boxes (the laptop runs XP… we won’t move to Vista and have actually moved to Open Office instead of using Windows Office suite – I’m on contract to a rather large company). I’d be happier if those sites actually fixed their issues, but I don’t see that happening right now. I’ll have to check out chrome though for my webmail. Maybe I’ll only be stuck with IE for the fraternity stuff.

December 17, 2008 at 2:10 am #746010nope still wont work 😕
December 17, 2008 at 6:30 am #746011I’m a huge fan of Firefox and use nothing else if I can help it. I hear Google Chrome is iffy – my brother, a computer whiz, says it’s basically a free trojan.
