this is Tar Sand it is very black:

It seeps out of the dirt and into water all the time, especially when we get more rain than normal so this is very common:

This is a tar pit, it is HUGE, I can understand ow Dinosaurs got caught in these things, if it was hotter here you would not be able to ride across it. I forgot to take pics of the size, I will next time though.
