Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
April 20, 2007 at 2:54 am #564813Hi! I have a peacock oriental that I’m currently fixing up, but I’ve seen another that’s listed on Ebay, and realized something. The auction dragon looks distinctively glossy to me, while mine has a matte finish to it. Were orientals produced like the early dragons, where they had a matte finish at first and were then made to be more glossy at a later time? Thanks!

I’ve got a set of the peacock orientals, but they are the lighter ones, with purple, green and blue with red highlights in the manes instead of indigo colored with orange manes. But mine look relatively glossy like the one on ebay. Later production, maybe?

Dark_zorse, do you have pics of your orientals anywhere? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen one with that many colors in the mane, it’d be neat to!

Yup! I got some pictures right here. The two big ones are the light colored ones, the baby is one of the indigo colored ones so you can see the difference better:

April 20, 2007 at 6:23 am #564818I think (and I could be way wrong) tha its jst different color batches. My Adult Oriental is colored like your young one but my Young and Sun are the brighter Peacock
April 20, 2007 at 7:20 am #564819Wow, that is quite a difference in color! I can’t decide which one I like better now… 🙂

It ispossible that the older peacock Oriental is more matte, but it still should be on the glossy side, they are supposed to be somewhat glossy. There are two versions of peacock , bright and dark.
