Loving it!
July 31, 2010 at 12:59 pm #570739oooh, looking really nice! I LOVE the subtle patterns.
July 31, 2010 at 1:12 pm #570740Bummer about the eye, but the dragon is coming along wonderfully! 🙂
July 31, 2010 at 11:56 pm #570741Well, his eye is still AWOL (and I’ve pulled the room apart 😥 ), but I got the antiquing and interference done. I may decide to do his horns and claws in gold instead of leaving them the way they are; the claws got stained so I painted them dark, and the horns are a sort of stained pearly bone color. Other than the clearcoat drying and giving him his pad, he’s done otherwise.
Didn’t somebody once get a replacement eye from Susie? Maybe I can email/PM her… I really do need to sell him, and the one eye look is creepy.
Light is poor this evening
I tried one with flash
Thanks everyone for the comments! I tend to find all the bad in my own work.
August 1, 2010 at 12:49 am #570742This keeper is coming along so nicely! I know what you mean about seeing the bad in your own work–I’m not that great of a painter and think anything I do is a mess up. But I love what you’re doing with this keeper! Look forward to seeing the finished piece! 😀
August 1, 2010 at 1:49 am #570743Wow! He’s really gorgeous. His coloring is beautiful 😀 .
August 2, 2010 at 8:39 pm #570744that’s really pretty! i love the color combination!
August 2, 2010 at 11:48 pm #570745that is just lovely 😀
August 3, 2010 at 12:27 am #570746Oh wow, he came out beautiful. I’d actually do the horns those same colors you have on the claws there. I still thing he’s just lovely as is though! I don’t think you have to add a thing!
Got a busted Windstone?

WIsh I’d thought to mask off his claws so they matched. Figure I’ll leave well enough alone now unless someone buys him and requests a change or addition. Light is better today, although the sun is playing peekaboo. Of course AFTER I emailed Susie about an eye and she graciously offers to send one, I find the AWOL one in the washing machine today. At least the fuzzy can retire as a seeing eye guide!
His fuzzy still takes guard and snuggling duty seriously
(color came out best in this photo; the blue’s glow won’t photograph)
He is now up for sale; I will put a post in the flea market, if he doesn’t sell there guess it’s off to eBay.August 10, 2010 at 11:11 pm #570748He’s a lovely color; he looks blue green, almost aqua, on my screen. I like how you did his chest area too, and particularly the center row of scales with the pink running through it. 😀
