So I went to see The Dark Knight and it literally sold out 2 people ahead of me. 👿 And I didn’t feel like waiting 1 and 1/2 hours to see the next showing so I went to see Mamma Mia instead. I know, I know, two completely different movies but I really hate waiting!

It’s an interesting movie. At times during the movie I thought “this is a bad movie.” The directing isn’t great and some of the roles were totally miscast. Although the daughter probably has the best voice I thought she was too young – the one song where she is supposed to get sexy creeped me out a little. I don’t know the actress’ age – she could be 20 – but she looks 16ish. But, it’s also about the most fun I’ve had at a movie! 😆 The music is great, of course, and the first scene with Dancing Queen is pretty much worth the price of admission. The ending is a lot of fun – the audience was singing and clapping along. So even though the movie itself won’t win any Oscars (except maybe for the soundtrack) it’s worth seeing. And it looked like they had a blast doing it.

Although I will say as much as I love Pierce Brosnan as an actor he CANNOT sing! It got to the point where the audience started laughing at his solos! But I feel bad for him. I read a review in which the reviewer made a snide comment that it appeared Brosnan had a hard time staying away from the caterer’s table. I guess that is a sign of gender equality that men are now being slammed for their weight but please. He’s not as young as he used to be – so he has a little bit of a belly. I still wouldn’t kick him out for eating crackers in bed! 😆 If you want to knock his singing go ahead but slamming him for weight? 😡

    So, anyone else see it?

I haven’t seen the movie yet (if I’m lucky, the base theater might show it sometime next month), but I’m looking forward to it. I saw the stage show and thought it was fun. I’m not sure what I think of the casting (I think most of them are a bit old- and look it), but I can’t wait to see how Colin Firth portrays Harry. 😆
