I’m more of a fan of the high contrast myself…..
4 things I'm looking for:
1. Mother Meerkat
2. production color Sitting Young Oriental dragons to be made in more colors besides VF, Brimstone would be awesome!
3. Female Griffin – Siamese with White
4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinDecember 3, 2011 at 11:47 pm #864324I’m more of a fan of the high contrast myself…..
I understand that, but we never had low contrast OW and my lap doesn’t like the high contrast males. She’s says they’re too confused. 🙂 My royals also want a low contrast OW.
I could be a little OCD about matching though.

Sun Dragon Koi #3December 4, 2011 at 12:46 am #864332I like the high contrast myself. I think it gives much more depth
I agree.
I also think having two different “silvers” could be confusing… both now and later. But that’s just my opinion.
December 4, 2011 at 1:03 am #864335My point is we already have 2 different silvers. The new ones don’t match the old ones, and I seem to be in a minority for preferring the old ones. 🙁 I don’t shoot down your guy’s squeeking threads. Why is mine coming under such attack?
I tend to like the less is more aesthetic w/ many Windstones. The black on the “new” silver is too busy for my tastes.
We have copper patina in 7 different varieties w/ different color eyes. There is the brassy v. buttery gold. There is dark peacock and light peacock. There is jade and emerald. A darker VF color and a lighter one, 2 coloration of pink curlies both light and dark.
So why can’t we have a low contrast silver OW. It’s not like I’m squeeking for a revolution here, and it’s not like the waters aren’t already muddied unless melody is only planning on releasing the other sculpts that have been done in silver only in low contrast….except we have both high contrast and low contrast silver emps, so muddy water.

My art: featherdust.comDecember 4, 2011 at 2:22 am #864344My husky rescue group participated in the AIDS walk in Indy. It was a lot of fun. That pic is also good to give people an idea of just how big Shion is compared to a standard husky. In the Winter he weights about 105-110 lbs, and after he blows coat in the spring he weight 95lbs.
He’s not a malamute. He’s a throwback. The current Husky was bred down from a dog abut Shion’s size, and genetically he’s thrown back to that original size.
The bad thing is for him that with his size he would be hard to place on a team…with his size he would throw the whole team off because he would probably be able to pull more, but not last as long…I would LOVE to test him out on a team!
I plan on my three girls getting set up in Texas when we move this coming summer on a tri dog urban mushing team. Mariah would be lead and Katy on high right, and Autumn in back…I’m so excited!

understandable, I’m that way too…
and if there’s multiples of say oh a beanie baby for example, I have to look at each one and decide which one looks best to me, can’t just pick up one and go….

4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinDecember 4, 2011 at 3:31 am #864352It’s funny, but my lap and my emp look good together. The difference in contrast is not that marked, really.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

You are correct that there are already two. But the others you listed, some were errors or later editions. The low vs high contrast silvers could be in the same boat. And… 7 different cp? Really? I know two paint jobs with two eye colors. Yikes, what have I missed? (though I must admit I don’t pay attention to the cp)
Also, looking at the store photo of the lap, he looks just as dark as the ow store photo. I think I must have missed something? Do they not look like the store photo?
Also, I wasn’t shooting down your squeak. I apologize for sounding that way. I was simply stating an opinion, as were the others. I’m sure other squeaks have gotten some as well.

I think the black in the store pics must be the lighting. My silver royalty and my lap have zero black on them. I saw a pic of Wampus’s high contrast emp and was really turned off by it. *Sorry Wampus’ emp*
My lap is varying shades of silver and is very subtle. The way the lights hits her reflects of the silver differently in different lights. I can’t find the camera, so I can’t take pics to show…although it’s dark here, so they wouldn’t be very good. 🙂 She’s one of my favorite pieces simply because she is so elegant and simple.

Sun Dragon Koi #3December 4, 2011 at 2:09 pm #864378I’m also a fan of the low contrast metallics (silver, gold and copper).
I much prefer the earlier versions of gold with little to no brown. I haven’t really seen the evolution of copper patina, but out of pure luck, I got a fledgling with very little patina and very little purple as well. However my silver Fledgling is high contrast and in fact, I had a trade thread going for a while hoping to find a low contrast one, but I don’t think that they were ever produced.
So I’ll squeak for anything in low contrast silver. 🙂
December 4, 2011 at 2:13 pm #864379I dont prefer either over the other, but Melody you would send me over the MOON with happiness if Windstone painted a few more low contrast emps. I would love to add one to my emperor army.
I can see why others wouldnt like it. The contrast does seem very ‘busy’ and while that may not bother the tiger queen(me) it might bug others.
