Hi my name is Jenny, I currently own two windstone red fire dragons that have been discontinued or retired in th red fire color scheme. I currently own a hatchling and one fledgling. I am currently in search of a complementary set of dragons that will match or look particularly great with my current set. Please can any one make a suggestions or comment on an existing set that I can order or find?
February 17, 2012 at 10:09 pm #873859You may try moving this post to the flea market section, might get better luck there 🙂
May also want to tell us what dragons you already have, and post your email.. and maybe a forum member that’s been possibly thinking of selling will contact you. Just a heads up though, the Red Fires are rare and in high demand, I’ve noticed.. so they’ll be priced up a bit..
The only one I am personally currently aware of is a Fledgling here: http://windstoneeditions.com/forum/fledglings-young-dragons-and-scratcher-saleTo move this thread, there should be an edit button above your original post, and in there it will give you the option to place it in a different category..
I also recommend searching through the flea market, but if it is an older post (Something off the front two pages, I’d say) instead of replying to the thread, send the person a personal message asking about their dragons, so it doesn’t “bump” the thread (In the flea market they prefer older threads to not move up and move newer, relevant threads off the front pages)
To send a PM there is a link right below their screen name – to check your personal messages go to “My account” at the very top of the screen. – Sorry if you knew all this already! I’ve noticed you’re account was activated today, I’m fairly new here as well and these are all very useful things I had learned! 🙂Welcome to the forum! 🙂

February 18, 2012 at 7:56 pm #873905Thanks everyone, I am trying to decide what to do now. I am stuck with to options weather I get the collection piece in the color scheme I have now or do I get various peices in different tones and work my way up into owning a variety of collection peices be them old and new sculpts should they make a new sculpt in the color scheme “Red Fire” anyone have a suggestion on how to go about this? I mean my parents said they could get one for me but I have to pay off the debit for it and that cuts into my convention fund plus I already have to pay off a debit for the hotel room which may cut into my con money as well. So please any suggestion on what. I should do here? Do I go ahead an get all the dragons I want in the color scheme I have or should I get a complimentary color scheme and work on collecting both color tones if they come out with a new sculpt in the original color that I have?
February 18, 2012 at 8:39 pm #873906Red Fire pieces are fairly rare and usually go for higher prices than other sculpts. Your best chances of getting them are to check retailers that may have one or two in stock, ebay, and asking here. I’d expect to pay 40-50% above retail, minimum. Possibly quite a lot more depending on the sculpt. I think they were only in production for one year? (Someone more knowledgeable can correct me.
Currently produced color schemes will be a lot easier to come by and the prices won’t be as high. But if you don’t like them as well, that may not matter.
Ultimately, it just comes down to what you like to have and look at. There isn’t really a right or wrong answer. I try to be diverse in sculpt and color types, some people collect only one color, and some folks try to get a particular sculpt in every color it was offered in (a few of the serious collectors try to get EVERY sculpt in EVERY color it was offered in.
Unfortunately, other than some guidance on costs/availability, no one will be able to tell you what to do here. 🙂
February 18, 2012 at 8:57 pm #873911Thanks again kiya, I think I am going to wait to get anymore red fire pieces for now even if I have to pay a higher price for them later on but I think I am going to look at getting my other precise in the black violet tones that will build a greater contrast in my collection plus later on I can look at getting the the other pecies if some one sells them or a retailer has them and or I find them on eBay as you suggested. That way I have two collection hehe.
February 18, 2012 at 9:13 pm #873917Black Violet is a limited production color. You’ll only find it in the Windstone store, on eBay, or through forum members. They don’t sell that color at retailers.
Emerald Peacock and Black Gold are standard production colors and you can find them all over.
February 18, 2012 at 9:34 pm #873922Hello, I found a Red Fire Scratcher today at the Enchantments store in Maine. I talked to the man bill that owns the store. He wants 196.00 plus the ship which is less than I paid for my original here in Michigan. Here is the email address if you are interested– info@enchantments-maine.us–warning don’t wait if you want it these are very hard to find. Good luck!

February 18, 2012 at 11:15 pm #873932I already emailed bill he got a buyer for the scratcher already. I am still considering the black-violet kiya but I may go the black-gold because it’s closer to the red color scheme but who knows if I get the black violet I will get it here or on eBay when it’s in stock but thanks everyone for the info and help trying to find these beauties especially the RF colors but I have faith I will have a full collection in time. Still thank you all for your knowledge and help.
February 18, 2012 at 11:20 pm #873936Sorry, should have emailed you instead. Will let you know if I find anymore. In fact I did find a different one. Going to email you about it in a moment.

March 13, 2012 at 3:12 pm #876581I have seen a lot of reds/rubies on ebay in the last while. You might consider trying there.
Life is beautiful.
March 13, 2012 at 4:50 pm #876588I have my Red Fire lap next to amethyst OW and they look amazing together. The purple works well w/ the red in the RF, just an idea of another set that would work as a complementary color scheme to the ones you have.
