Ack! I’m sorry to hear about your smoky dragon. 🙁

You can try some carpet cleaner (Resolve) or Fabreeze on the felt pad to help the smell. As for the paint I’m not sure much can be done. Is it tacky to the touch? If so you probably have nicotine/tar residue. You might try diluting 10% rubbing alcohol in water and using that to clean him. Just make sure it very dilute. I don’t know of any soaps or cleaners you can use without taking off the paint.

Well glad he arrived in one peice. Sorry about the smell, but like ppl have said it will wear off eventually.

Mine arrived in one piece packed VERY WELL, double boxed like I asked for, but the smell!!!! I will leave him a positive feedback for the packing, but I think I am going to mention the overpowering smoke smell. ::Insert smilie holding his nose here::

The dragon is in my bathroom airing out, but I had to take the boxes to the basement they reeked so bad! 👿

So just curious….what did people get from this guy?

      #613352

I got the white lap that Tintaglia had asked the seller about. Sorry to snatch it; I didn’t know! 😳

Her color is really dark gold for a white, so she may have some nicotine residue on her. 👿 I can’t stand being close to her for too long, so I haven’t inspected her very closely yet. I hope the smell dissipates soon!

I used to live with a smoker so I know what you mean. The smoke just hangs in the air and everything gets a dingy color to it.

No problem, Goldragon. 🙂 That’s not the first time I missed out on something because I wanted to think about it first. I just figure it wasn’t meant to be mine.

I got a mint peacock emperor-at a GREAT price. I had about given up on getting one in my price range. The smell was awful when I opened the box. He is airing in the spare room.

I’m at the hospital so I don’t know if the smell is going away. I noticed he is very gold colored. It could be tar but he was too smelly for me to get a good look at him. I have him in my living room right now but no one is home for the smell to bother (except my cat). When I get home tonight I’ll see if his smell is any better.

It is getting better. After a week, I have to get closer to it to smell the smoke. Maybe before Christmas it can go in the curio with the rest of the family.

Sorry he smells so bad, but you did get a great price. Congrats.

He’s an Old Warrior Dragon. He needs to smoke anything he can get his hands on to help him cope with the horrors of past wars. 😈

For those prices, I was willing to overlook it!
