March 18, 2009 at 5:43 pm #752303I finally got photos of this lovely lady! The Labradorite Lap is in the Gallery. Please have a peek! Thank you to everyone that watched me to paint her live. I painted the entire thing on camera!! That must be a first right?

March 18, 2009 at 11:24 pm #752306March 19, 2009 at 10:12 pm #752307She’s absolutely beautiful! I love those scales! I miss the googly eyes, though 😀
March 19, 2009 at 11:54 pm #752308I know she’ll come up some day soon before I have enough money to compete with some of the deeper pockets here (I’m trying to be good and pay off my credit cards by year’s end and go on the trip I had planned last year this winter). Hopefully there will be another one some day (later in the year maybe? *wags tail hopefully*). She’s truly the most lifelike of all the windstones I’ve seen painted, production or special to date. She looks so natural. Seriously. I told my mom I would sell my entire collection if it meant I could have just that one (ok, maybe I might keep one or two, but I’d be sorely tempted!). Shocked my mom because I wasn’t kidding! 😮 You’ve outdone yourself Jen. Brava! :hi:
*keeps mopping up the drool from around chair before it fries laptop*
*I’m….. dreaming of a Labradorite Lap……. *whistles* 😀
March 23, 2009 at 2:59 pm #752309I… I’m not sure if I’ll do another! Smooth scales are really hard to paint… and even more so when they are mostly white/cream/grey!! Because it’s SO easy to make them look dirty. She was a bit of a nightmare to do and took me longer than any other dragon to do.
She might be up in.. hmm… probably 2 weeks at the earliest. I am painting a male then shipping them together probably at the end of the week.

My art: featherdust.comMarch 23, 2009 at 4:16 pm #752310Dang… Glorious.
Uhh… would it be feasible to paint a seal point dragon somewhat-similarly via airbrushes? For a LP run or something? I know there couldn’t be anywhere near that level of scale detail, but that’s one of the coolest concepts for dragon painting that I’ve seen yet.

I cannot/don’t airbrush my dragons; Windstone has me working for them to create distinctly hand painted pieces separate from the line that Melody, Olympia and the other fine airbrush artists produce. 🙂

The Lap is beautiful. I especially like the silver accents you put on her; her tail looks like a starry sky.March 24, 2009 at 2:10 pm #752313Greater Basilisk wrote:Is the male going to be a Labradorite too?

Will he get painted on Web cam?

If I can manage it. Our power bill was high this month, and running the extra computer to run the webcam gets expensive. I wonder if I should take ‘webcam’ donations!

My art: featherdust.comMarch 24, 2009 at 5:57 pm #752316I hear you on high power bills. I’m so glad that spring seems to be in full swing here because it means we can turn the heat off and if we have the windows open we don’t need to turn the air conditioning on. Hopefully your next power bill will be much better.
