August 27, 2011 at 4:47 am #854472OMG! Please tell me you intend to make some production lions. I just saw the lion auction and he’s beautiful. Please, please make some for us who can’t compete on ebay.
Oooo! I just had a thought. You should paint some like ligers . Sure those would be ebay kitties, but I’d love to see how you would paint them 🙂

4 things I'm looking for:
1. Mother Meerkat
2. production color Sitting Young Oriental dragons to be made in more colors besides VF, Brimstone would be awesome!
3. Female Griffin – Siamese with White
4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinAugust 27, 2011 at 6:10 am #854476We found the master of this old lion and the “case” ( the thing that is used to cast the mold)- so since we had no old “leftover” castings of the lion, I had some molds made.
I do not intend to make these production, because the rough spots, and mistakes in this primitive old sculpture are cringe-worthy.
However, if the usual holds true, an edition of this number will usually start to sell for a totally reasonable price towards the middle of the edition.
Don’t be put off by what the first couple go for, and bid for number 10 or so.
I also plan to do editions of these these in other colors, but NO, I am not planning to do red panda lions.
( The reason I put answers at the bottom of the thread instead of in quotes under the question, is because the forum software won’t let me “quote” the first question in a thread. It’s another weird forum glitch.)August 27, 2011 at 8:34 am #854478“cringe-worthy”
*lol*
Personally I like the rough look myself. I have an really old brown dragon, and I love him because he looks like he was carved out of wood. The roughness gives him a personal charm. I think the same goes for this lion and the other older animal sculpts. But I can understand why this may not suit for a production item. The ‘rough’ look and imperfections don’t suit everyone.August 27, 2011 at 12:42 pm #854479He’s got a beautiful face; the eyes are just perfect and give him this look like he’s about to pounce.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.
