I don’t if anyone here reads the Merry Gentry series, but I just finished devouring the latest one, A Lick of Frost and it was AWESOME!
Just thought I’d share. I’m still in the dazzle of all that creative magic 😀
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

February 9, 2008 at 2:58 am #663287I dunno…
I read it, not wrote it??? 😕

So what did you think of how the story ended? I don’t want to give details in case someone is still reading it.

Oops…. I’m too excited and didn’t read the instructions 😳
The end was neatly done, but of course, it leaves me hungry for what’s going to happen next! In a sense, she was hinting at something like this; it just came into fruition in a way that took me by surprise.
OK, whoever hasn’t read it, are you intrigued by now?

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmFebruary 9, 2008 at 3:19 am #663290I knew one thing that happened was going to happen because it’s been mentioned on her Web site that this story will have a “happy ending”. She did do a good job leaving you wanting for more. Do you read the author’s blog? She’s working on the next book in the Merry series right now and recently mentioned that one of the characters dies. She didn’t name names and I’m wondering who isn’t going to make it.
February 9, 2008 at 3:36 am #663291Okay…I’m intrigued!!! 😆 What kind of books are these? SciFi/Fantasy? Romance? Mystery? 🙂

Don’t tell, I’m in the middle of reading it atm.

All three! LOL! With a healthy amount of sex tossed in for good measure.
I also like Laurell’s other series with Anita Blake quite a lot, but it looks like the last book was the wrap up on that series, unfortunately, but it still left a lot of loose ends, so I was dissatisified with it.

February 9, 2008 at 5:00 am #663294Anita Blake isn’t ending anytime soon. Laurell has several more books in the works for Anita. In fact the next book (#16 BLOOD NOIR) is due out in June.

Nope, her new Anita book comes out June 3, it’s called Blood Noir…she’s anticipating at least 4 more Anita books after that. So it won’t wrap up for quite a while. I’m just glad she’s getting back to more plot, less sex.
February 9, 2008 at 5:04 am #663296The Merry book she is working on now is called “Swallowing Darkness”. 😈 I can’t wait for that one to come out.
February 9, 2008 at 6:59 am #663297I love both series. I started reading Anita Blake years ago – got the first 3 books in an anthology from the SciFi book club. After I read it I rushed out and bought every other book in the series because our local library didn’t have any at the time. But I became friends with one of the librarians and got her hooked on it so now the library has the whole series! Although I admit I talked to her about one of the other libraries in the system (everone is connected on the internet) – they had the Anita Blake books in the children’s section! 😯 How could you classify these books as suitable for children? Someone made a very big mistake.
I liked A Lick of Frost but I thought it was a very dark book. Without giving anything away (I hope) I know why the ending could be considered happy but I thought it was sad.
Anyone have a favorite guard? Mine is Doyle. And I go on record as saying if he dies I will be VERY unhappy! 😈 Course if Kel dies in the next book….happy dance!
February 9, 2008 at 7:36 am #663298It’s not the ending of “A Lick of Frost” that is supposed to be considered “happy”, but the overall end of the Merry Gentry series.
I’d have to say Doyle’s one of my favorite guards.
