I’m having a tattoo done based on them; originally it was to be a full back tat, but now may be a partial back tat (not sure if I’m allergic to the red ink we used). It’s about 1/3 done right now; across the lower section of my back I have his two guns in black & white, crossed, hammers back, and a half-open red & green rose between them. If I’m not allergic to the red, I’ll have a field of red roses put across the lower section of my back, and I want to do the backside of Roland walking to the Tower above that. If I turn out to be allergic after all, then I’ll just finish it in black and white, and let the one rose stand out in red.
*loves Oy* I would love to make a little sculpture of him… *sigh*

I love those books, but I hate the ending. It seems to cheap to me. I’m not sure what else he could have done, but I was hoping for something more monumental, I think. The tat sounds great. I got one with a red rose and it broke out so I thought I was allergic to the red dye, but I was allergic to the Neosporin. 😆 Thank goodness!
May 15, 2007 at 8:33 pm #555283I loved Oy, too.
I have to agree with you, Em. I was very pissed off at the ending! Reading the reviews, it seems either people loved it or hated it. A couple I read talked about how Mr. King was trying to teach us to enjoy the journey and not rush toward the ending. A tip of the hat to that theory, but I still think he could have come up with something better.
May 15, 2007 at 8:34 pm #555284I would love to see your tat when it’s finished, keeper.

Sorry to ask this, but what on earth are you guys refering to? I am guessing something Stephen King wrote, but I have no idea what book.

May 15, 2007 at 9:07 pm #555286Yup, Stephen King’s Gunslinger series.
May 16, 2007 at 12:27 pm #555287Mine is finally done. Just finished putting the clear coat on him. I won’t be able to get a good picture since it’s supposed to be overcast for the next few days. So hopefully my swapie has a good camera. I’ll send him out Thursday. 😀

May 21, 2007 at 9:29 pm #555291Well I think my swap piece is finally finished. Gonna let it dry overnight before I even consider putting a clear coat on it. I like how it turned out, even if it was a little different than I originally planned. My husband liked what he could see of it over the Web cam this afternoon so that’s good. I just hope my partner likes it!
May 22, 2007 at 12:00 am #555292Yep Kepper of the Flocks. I sure have read them all! They are all in hardback and I have them in between my Egg bookend set!! I have an old Avon bottle in the shape of a gun I keep next to the books, and a box which looks like bleached wood. I love the books, I think they are one of ing’s greatest works! 😀 (But then again I have all of his books in hardback. 😳 )
