…you know…I really like this labradorite male better than the one I have! XD I think it’s just the very dark beak that I like….I dunno…I wonder if whoever wins this one might consider trading…
Yeah, the last two got slightly darker beaks and markings… I custom mix my paints and layer them, so no two are alike! I know that makes it complicated as a collector though. 😳
Hey, it’s the same way with my PYOs, so I totally understand! I just have a personal preference for the way this last one turned out….

-J R R TolkienOctober 9, 2007 at 10:02 pm #594423I logged onto eBay this afternoon, and was very amused!! I find it really funny that the chicks have already passed their mother- in fact, she’s the lowest of the group! An irony that is not lost on me at all… she- by far- took the longest to paint of the family! 😆
This does lead me to ask, though- do you guys find that the mother is the least attractive of the family? We Windstone folks have a theory about this. I’m curious what you all think.

My art: featherdust.comOctober 9, 2007 at 10:06 pm #594424I actually like the Lap, OW, mother dragons, and the mother griffin. I like that they are laying down and not standing. But I am probably the odd duck.
October 9, 2007 at 10:06 pm #594425I guess the mother must really appeals to broke people…she’s my favorite of the bunch along with the crouching chick. 😆
October 9, 2007 at 10:08 pm #594426Personally, I don’t like the way the feathers look on the upper arm of the female. But they seem to look fine on the upper arm of the male.
I have the same comment about the neck feathers also, but to a lesser extent.
October 9, 2007 at 10:20 pm #594427I don’t know, I love the male griffens. I would like a female but, I only want one. I’ve pushed the bid up on the male, female, and sitting chick. I’d be very surprised if I actually win any of them, but, I can dream. (Where I’ll get the money to pay them off if I do win, is a mistery for now….)
My least favorite griffen is the crouching chick. I just don’t like them that much.

I’d say I’m not overly enthusiastic about the female gryphon sculpt. Nor the crouching chick. I wouldn’t mind if my production brown/tan male gryphon stayed a single parent for the rest of his life (although he might mind ).
October 9, 2007 at 10:32 pm #594429AAAaaaack!!! Noooooooo!! 😯 😯
October 9, 2007 at 10:34 pm #594430I really love her, but I’m in the ‘broke person’ category. 🙂
October 9, 2007 at 10:36 pm #594431Me too! hence the comment! I love my wolf momma griff and will hopefully get either a brown or black sunset someday. I still haven’t been able to get a male yet though, soooon….. 😀
October 9, 2007 at 10:46 pm #594432I’m hoping for a sunset momma someday too. I have the white pearl momma now.

To be completely honest… that’s my opinion exactly. I love having several sculpts of the griffins, but the female is most definitely my least favorite of the bunch (especially in the Wolf color). The crouching chick isn’t my fave either, but I’m a sucker for babies, so he’s a notch up from her on the scale. I’m wanting to get all of every [reasonably attainable] color that comes out, but if I don’t, the Mamas are the ones that will be left out.
October 10, 2007 at 12:52 am #594434I like the female and crouching chick the best! I like them far better than the male of sitting chick. I love my wolf colored one. She’s one of the first dark ones.
I’ve been watching the auction for the female griffin. If I can I may through in a bid. I can only spend so much though and I usually don’t bid until the end. I tend to lose over half of what I bid on days before it ends and tend to win over 90 percent of what I bid on if I do it at the end. The hard part is though that the auctions usually end while I’m at work. Is there any chance of a few auctions ending after 5:00 PM or on weekends? I can’t bid on anything or pay for it while I’m at work.
October 10, 2007 at 4:14 am #594435For me, this has always been such a unique and cool (in a minty kind of way which I know sounds weird but it’s just how they make me feel) way. Great frosted family color scheme. And- Im not one for anything anywhere near white but these kinds of blendings work well for my tastes.
Nam, how many times did you get in line when the Gods were handing out creative talent?! Somehow I think you have cut in front of me more than once! 😆 Just playin!
October 10, 2007 at 6:46 am #594436Awww, poor old mama griffin! I love that sculpt…I have a few issues with it, like her huge hind end and her slightly uneven head, but they don’t bother me – I think she’s lovely!
I actually find the chicks to be a little creepy, myself…with the HUGE eyes and teeny tiny beaks… 0_o I like the sitting chick okay, but I don’t really like the crouching chick much at all as a sculpt. What’s your theory, Nam???
