      Hi all,I need to touch up some paint rubs on a male kirin,need to match the paint.Does anyone know the exact browns to use?I thank you for the help in advance.

        On my mom’s long dead first kirin, I used Golden’s Red Oxide mostly- it was VERY close to the chestnut. I darkened with Golden Raw Umber or lightened with their Raw Sienna- you couldn’t even tell the difference in the old and new paint when I was done (and not because of skill!). The gloss etc. was the same.

          I’ve used a few different browns. The problem with the KiRin babies is that the browns really weren’t consistent back in the day. I have KiRin babies that are more chestnutty, while others are almost black/brown.

          I just kept mixing and dabbing until I got the match right.

          Good luck, I know that with your talent it will be a seamless repair.
