Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.I went on my interview today. I like the office and my future boss–thing is, will they like me enough to hire me? [sigh] It’s one of those waiting games and with the feeling of ‘did I impress or what?’ They have other applicants to interview [surprise, surprise] and I’m sure that anyone with current knowledge of their accounting software will be an instant hit. I know the software, but I haven’t worked with it since 2003. But I felt I did have some impressive accomplishments in the places I did work. It’s just that you never know how these things turn out and if they feel you are going to be a good fit.
I’ll hopefully know by the end of this week but I’m left now with that down feeling of being up against so many other people looking for work. You don’t know where you stand and you hope for some reason they do end up picking you.
Well, it doesn’t look like I got that job–haven’t heard squat from them which is usually the case when they have decided to hire someone else. But….this morning I looked on Craigslist and saw a position with a bookkeeping firm that I dealt with in the early 2000s! I am hoping she remembered me and how quickly I learned my then employer’s software program and straightened out his books. She was even impressed and gave me high marks then. Well I’m hoping she’ll still be impressed with me enough to hire me! Just sent my email with cover letter and resume and hope to hear from her soon.
Funny, I was just thinking about her firm a few days ago and so I’m hoping it is one of those things that were meant to be. So keep those fingers crossed tight–hope I hear from them soon!
Call the one you got the interview with. Oftentimes, they want you to contact them. Even if they’ve hired someone else, that puts you back on the stack for the next time.
