Well as some of you might remember I was trying to get a grant to help pay for my motorcycle repairs. There is a group in San Francisco called the San Franscisco Bay Area Leather Association.
I submitted the application with all the supporting paperwork for the motorcycle repairs ($2300) and the small medical expenses and towing I have paid for out of pocket.
Since I’m a member of the Alameda County Leather Corp and a past Mister Alameda County Leather AND been in the community for 18 years doing charitable work for SEVERAL organizations I was originally told that it should not be a problem.
The first issue was that the organization is now saying that they where not originally set up to help with motorcycle repairs, (which is a lie since I have known of them for 15 years and that was how they have been presented to the public). So I had to resubmit the application stating that I was having financial hardship and needed the money for my mortgage which I actually do anyway, I’m a bit behind there too. I can pay the bike repairs OR mortgage but not both at this time. I jumped through all the hoops they put in front of me, got the new application submitted with all the proper supporting paperwork and I called my rep yesterday and he told me that they can not help me
I DO make good money and have 2 jobs which is one of the reasons they stated for turn down. They also said that sinice I have insurance I can put in a claim with them. In order to start an insurance claim I need a police report and I can’t go to the police and ask them to give me a report for an accident 3 months ago where I was the only one involved?? How STUPID is that??? It would also end up on my driving record for 3 years. I just lost a point I DO NOT need to replace it!!
They also said that since I have a car and show other assetts the bike is NOT my only form of transportation, there for not a neccasity, so I do not qualify.
I don’t OWN any of the other assetts they are talking about since I’m still paying them off!!!I might have to start selling more things to make these bills.
I’m not as attached to the Franklin Mint dragons I have but they are not selling well on e-bay right now.
I’m working as much OT as I can at my full time job right now but it’s not enough. On top of that for some reason I did not get paid at all from my part time job today. Last week I got shorted 8 hours this week no check at all???I’m at the end of my rope here with all these problems
Why do all the BAD things like this happen to good people!
Sorry for the rant but I could not keep it bottled up anymore!!June 26, 2009 at 8:27 pm #498571June 26, 2009 at 9:14 pm #771846I’m sorry you’ve fallen on such hard times, DM. With the economy the way it is, everyone who wants money has to jump through hoops to receive it. I’m sorry you have to consider selling some of your pieces, but if it helps you pay bills, you should. Do you have any recourse right now for getting your paycheck from your part-time job? Did everyone else get paid or were there select employees like you who were not paid? Were you shorted 8 hours at your part-time job? If so, it sounds like it is becoming a habit for them to short you money. I’m under the assumption this job pays you once a week. Can you talk to someone in HR about this? Can you try to take out a loan to pay off your bills? It’s not the best idea, and you will have to jump through hoops for that, too, but it’s an idea. I hope things improve with you soon!
June 26, 2009 at 9:32 pm #771847Thanks for the reply
with my credit right now a loan is SSSSSOOOOO out of the question.
The condo is usless since it’s worth about 1/4 what I paid 4 years agoIn regards to my part time job pay the manager does not seem to know how to input hours corectly
The assistant manager does and said he had done it correctly, I was watching when he did it, and usually when he does it I’m fine BUT he is now on vacation for the next week or so.
I called and my manager asked if I wanted him to look into the pay stub to make sure how much I was SUPPOSED to get and the sheet I have to sign for the check is there showing my hours 261/2 when it should be 29 1/2, with the other 8, but no direct deposit or paycheck stub showed up
Jerry, my boss has called HR but they are in Malilla-sp in the Pihiliines so no answer for me today
We have been having all sorts of trouble with payroll since CVS took over. The night mandger was shorted like 16 hours last week. Yes I get paid weekly thereJune 26, 2009 at 10:08 pm #771848Ah, so Long’s is your part-time job! Yes, I know the transition has been messy to CVS, but I’ve never heard it from an employee’s perspective. How convenient that so many higher-ups are on vacation right now, sigh…So this means all you can do is wait until next week to get the money you’ve earned. Most real estate isn’t worth what people originally paid nowadays. I’m sorry, DM. I know having adopted Sarabi you need the money now, too. I did not know you had motorcycle repairs to worry about, too.

yes I had posted about them earlier
June 26, 2009 at 11:12 pm #771850And I had forgotten about that post. But now that you mention it, when I asked Melody about the candleholders breaking, you chimed in about having worked at Long’s.
June 27, 2009 at 2:55 am #771851I’m sorry DM that you are having so many money problems right now. Everyone seems to be in this same rut–property isn’t worth as much and you have repairs to be made and don’t have the money. I know people who are really hurting right now and this economy is starting to take a toll on a lot of people. Glad you can vent on here and get it off your chest. It doesn’t bring you the money but it sure helps.

June 27, 2009 at 4:54 pm #771853Ahhh dang, DM! What a mess… I’m sorry! Big hugs to you {{HUGS}}

June 27, 2009 at 5:44 pm #771854I know how things can get sometimes, and I am so sorry that you might have to sell some pieces. It is hard. π
June 28, 2009 at 1:59 pm #771855How frustrating after all the trouble with the paperwork! I hope you get the pay that is owed you, and that life takes a turn for the better. π
June 30, 2009 at 2:07 pm #771856I hope things start looking up for you DM! *hugs*
July 2, 2009 at 6:46 pm #771857well the “assistant Manager” (actual department manager) who is the ONLY one that REALLY knows the payroll system got back yesterday.
For some reason the over night crews hours have to be input differrenty and he said my week ending like 6-6 had red flags all over it which is wierd since that was a while ago, and I get paid weekly from CVS, so I’m not sure why it took them this long to hold money back???
He said I should be getting my back pay by next Friday 7-10-09 for the 21 regular and 5 overtime hours they owe me for. I don’t work enough to get OT so I guess this was the Holiday paycheck and those hours are from the Monday morning shift (Memorial Day)
He also said they are swithing payroll around all the time and not telling the store managers of the changes, sounds like typical corporate crap to me π π π π πSOOOO I hope to be getting a VERY nice paycheck next week!!
Plus I worked OT the first Saturday of my at&t check and will be getting a 6th day of pay for this week with the holiday falling on the Saturday so I’m slowly getting the money I need for the bike rprs. I only have about 1 1/2 year to go on the bike, well EXACTLY 18 more payments after this month then that will be done. I can’t sell the bike without the cerificate of ownership and I still owe more then I now think it’s worth
I’ll be on vacation the week of the 20-24 so that will be nice too I just need to decide if I want to work at CVS or notAnother part fo the problem is I sold my Special OW to DrgnLvr to help pay my state taxes but have not been abel to get them paid and only have 1/2 that money left
July 2, 2009 at 6:49 pm #771858I’m glad you’re getting the money you earned, DM. I’m also glad you can take a vacation, it sounds like you need a break. I hope you can get your bike repaired soon, it sounds like you want to sell it? Why don’t you have the certificate?
