Ok, so, sending huge healing and calming vibes your way… and, um… take in a deep breath!

Ok, ok, that was bad! But I’m one to find the dumb funny stuff in any occasion.

I would suggest relaxation stuff – not necessarily yoga, as you can exert yourself doing it, but things like sitting comfortably, closing your eyes and “connecting” with all your muscles, you know, the type of stuff where you think, my legs are really heavy, etc.

It might help calming down your heart rate and maybe help a wee bit with the breathing. It won’t hurt.

So yeah, big hugs your way, ‘kay?

I am so sorry you are going through all of this. I agree – make sure you get seen soon. Hopefully they can get you back to normal quickly. Feel better soon!

Oh, this sounds so frustrating and scary. To not be able to breathe is one of the worst feelings in the world. I am so sorry you are on the “waiting” plan for medical care, this is also very frustrating.

Please take care of yourself and take it as easy as you can. That high heart rate is very worrisome. I had similar problems when my thyroid was out of control (it eventually had to be destroyed). I wonder if you might ask your PCP (when you find one) to run a simple blood test.

Anyway, thinking of you and wishing you AIR!!! Please keep us updated as (I) we will worry.

Ack! I went through something similar two years ago. “They” Claimed I had Panic attacks and prescribed anti-anxiety drugs. The side effects were worse than the cause, so I voluntarily weened myself off of them. I was rushed to the ER with accelerated heart rates, and tight chest. Each time I went they kept me there for hours because they couldn’t get my heart rate down to a “safe” level.

I am not comparing myself to your case, but I do understand what you are going through. You may have to go see dozens of specialists, and doctors until they figure this out. In the meantime, I would demand to view your ex-rays and also demand they explain their suspicions. There is nothing worse than being left in the dark regarding your own health. I wish I could turn back time, and do the same, when this sort of thing happened to me.

My thoughts are with you, Amanda. Please take care of your self as best as you can.

Not to be an alarmist, and I’m worried about you, drag0n.

pulmonary hypertension and acute exacerbation / sparatic broncho spasm…

Pulmonary hypertension has to w/ the oxygen transfer between your lungs and heart. Those are bad words–my uncle who works in the CCU told me those are words you never want to hear–get into see the doctor.

acute exacerbation / sparatic broncho spasm–basically means that you bronchial tubes spasm like you have bronchitis or an asthma attack.

So what ever is going on w/your heart and lungs is causing you have attacks similar to an asthma attack. That is why you can’t breathe. It would also explain why if you are active you have attacks because activity will increase your respiration and your heart rate. That’s what the fancy doctor speak means. What it means in real life is your heart or lungs could be going bad. My uncle died from something similar to this.

0.o Yea, I have been hearing/learning/researching more and more about this over the past few days. I am thinking maybe it is something I have had for a long time and just never knew. I could never drink energy drinks(have never been able to take them), or even coffee too much because I get the shakes really bad. Even sometimes if I have too much soda I can get really jittery. I just thought I was a light weight with that kind of stuff. Now I’m thinking, probably because I have this elevated heart rate it effects me more then normal I put my body in panic mode without even knowing it. I’ve always also noticed while just sitting quietly or laying down next to someone who was sleeping next to me, I tend to breathe much slower then normal too. Not something I ever took much notice of, but I guess my heart breats faster to accomidate for the lack of oxygen? I guess that makes sense… I didn’t know it would eventually cause me to have these attacks, but yea… I think as soon as I hit 31 this year my body officially broke >_< LOL!

You could have. In the version my uncle had, he got a heart virus that caused his heart to swell. He didn’t know until it was too late to do anything about it. But not being able to take caffeine and stuff would be an indicator.

Oh no. 🙁 That is very unsettling…and I am sorry you have these issues with your lungs. And I am not very happy that you have to wait to see a specialist. I really hope the specialist can do something more for you! *hugs* hang in there.

If you are having trouble with the normal meds ask about anabolic steroids. Not being able to breathe, and not being able to tolerate the standard meds to help me breathe were common things in my childhood. Many times there are other treatments besides the most common ones… be sure to mention this to your GP (when you finally get in to see one) and see what alternatives there are to the first thing on the list.

Thank you for the advice *nods* I am having a good day today, the first day I have felt pretty good since on the meds. Maybe it’s because we had some decent weather today? I dunno, I just hope it keeps up.

Got your PM Leigha, he was on the back burner so long I almost forgot about him! LOL!

I hope you get this figured out soon!

I remember having the bronchial spasms last year (I had a throat infection)… they are seriously unpleasant. I’m glad your work was able to put you on light-duty.

I do hope you get to see that specialist ASAP, I knew a bit about what those words meant (they were nicely explained to you above), and that’s never good news, especially if it’s not triggered by asthma, or allergies. I hope it turns out to be something minor, or at least easily treatable.

                    (HUGS)
