Well, I just got back. The shop didn’t have anything in emerald.
The only notable pieces they had were Emperor and Lap in peacock for 269.00 and 149.00
and a ruby riser for 200.00I’ll keep checking with them in the future.

If I see someone I know bidding on something I might like, I’m happy to let it go and tell myself I’m saving quite a bit of money. But I can see Ski’s point about keeping the value up.
February 5, 2007 at 12:20 pm #535657I know how you feel I’ve been outbid by a penny before. Now that hurts. But, I’d bid against anyone on the forum. Sorry but if I want something I’ll get it no matter what.

Also, I bid on Windstones that I already have all the time. I want to keep the value of the item up. If a male dragon goes for $50, then its worth $50. People are gonna see that and only pay $50. When I sell mine, I will only get $50. There is no way I will ever let anything go for alot less than its worth. It brings the value of all our collections down.
Do you really think so?? Ebay is so fickle, I don’t think it’s a very reliable gauge of value…something will go for $50 one day and $250 the next…I always look at the occasional auction that goes cheap as “a deal,” and I for one am grateful for them! Besides, I think since the forum took off, what people are willing to pay for Windstones has risen dramatically… I don’t think there’s a huge need to keep the prices up…

I think the occasional jump in price is because of new collectors. I have also seen a trend about things we discuss here. (the curled dragons, the griffins, the jades)I think its the fact that what one person wants, everyone wants. I dont drive the prices up on everything… only things that I want, or things that are really cheap. I would bid $25 on every peacock male, for example, just so if one actually goes that low, I would get it. I am actually starting to worry about the Windstone community. It seems like the folks on Ebay are the same ones all the time. We need new buyers.
February 5, 2007 at 3:42 pm #535660I’m trying!!! I take my Windstone book with me to work religously!! Everyone looks at it. I know one woman who works there that used to buy them for her Daughter-in-law. Since her son got divorced, she doesn’t buy them anymore. 🙁 But she is always interested in the new ones. But most of the aides and nurses there can’t seem to understand why I would pay so much to collect something. But, if you are say, talking to a antique collector who collects old chairs, you say well, that 18th century chair you paid $500 for is like my Windstones…THEN they understand!
But I have my boyfriend sold on them enough to want doubles of what I already have. 😯
I bought my Stepmother an owl candlelamp (she always gets me a goodie from Windstone for X-mas (this year it was the BG Fledgling) One of my Maxx’s is going to my ex (who loves wolves anyway, so what better way than to immortalize his dog on a wolf?) I am trying to spread the wealth. I sent GB a Logostone, which by the way I have a Gargoyle Logostone (Gothic) that I need to get off my hands. I also have an extra Castle Logostone, but I am still in debate with myself on that one…LOL
But I religiously show my collection whenever someone asks why I collect “Such an expensive item for it’s size” 😛February 8, 2007 at 5:04 am #535661It urks me to be outbidded for a dollar. It just happened again. I was bidding on the Alchemist Tower and Weinburg Castle. I had two tabs going so I could jump back and forth real easy but my computer decided to act up at that time so I won one, Weinburg Castle and lost the other by $1.00. AAARRRGGG!!!!! Lucky me a dealer by me still has an Alchemist Tower but its gonna cost me twice as much as I could of got it for on ebay. Oh well, you pay the price if you really want something and I really want this. After I go and get the Tower I believe I have only 1 more castle to get Castle of the Hawks.
February 8, 2007 at 5:38 am #535662A couple other people are looking for the Hawks, too. It seems to be the rarest of the bunch.
February 8, 2007 at 6:05 am #535663You were maybe outbid by a dollar, because their bid was the only one that went higher than yours, but you dont know if their high bid was only $2.00 more, or $200.00 more.
February 8, 2007 at 11:55 am #535664You may be right. They could of bid alot more. Heck I was in the process of doing the same thing and throwing a bid of $80 or $90 or more just to insure that I would win but my computer wouldn’t refresh fast enough. Oh well I got one. Well I guess I have to think about how people feel when I go in at the last few secs and outbid them when they think they have it in the bag. I kid you not, the last 10 secs that other bid was in. They’re good.
February 8, 2007 at 12:00 pm #535665yep nirvana is good at that we call her the snipping queen, dragoness is good as well ( but I finally got my garglonius 😆 )
February 8, 2007 at 12:20 pm #535666Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. In this case I did both.
February 8, 2007 at 2:57 pm #535667I was going for that Alchemist Tower too, but got distracted when the auction ended so I forgot to go back to it. Oh well. I spent too much on the Griffins anyway. I shouldn’t buy anything else for a while.
February 8, 2007 at 7:43 pm #535668Congrats on the castle. I wanted the Weinburg Castle and you got it for a really good price.
So ruffian, does that mean I am the sniping princess? 😆 😆
February 8, 2007 at 9:18 pm #535669I’m not Ruffian, but I’m going to say “yes.”
