September 14, 2007 at 10:46 pm #544434Thanks! I used to make chokers, my ex is apache, he does amazing bead work.
I like your designs, very pretty 😀
September 14, 2007 at 11:42 pm #544435Wow! You guys are all awesome!
Anybody ever heard of or work with marcocite? (sp?) It’s a form of black/silver pyrite. I just saw some for the first time and got a necklace… it looks almost victorian. I don’t know if it’d be hard to work with, but it’s soooo pretty.September 15, 2007 at 12:30 am #544436Yes we have it in finished jewelry from time to time and in jewelry parts. We also have it in bead and cabachon. The true marcasite is soft and can even crumble over time 😯
September 15, 2007 at 1:04 am #544437Um…. crumbling over time does not sound good. And I really like it in my necklace….
Do you have pics of it in the jewelry you’ve done?September 15, 2007 at 1:39 am #544438I will see if I can find some tonight, the little faceted ones they use in jewelry are quite durable, just in raw or bead form does it crumble 😀
September 15, 2007 at 3:38 am #544439I have a great friend who lives on Long Island (tho shes a native Aussie :yay!: ) and had founded her company called Harry and Possumtrot. You can view not only her natural, delicate and creative jewelry at that site but you can see her wall panels too.

Grrr… I just checked the link when I did a preview of my post here and it says, for the first time, that the site is under construction. But if you remember, do check back.
She is simply fabulous and ultra talented. I dont mind singing her praises that her work has been in many popular upscale magazines (if you do visit the site, check out the press link) and celebs have worn her jewelry on the Red Carpet. Shes also one of the sweetest ppl I know too. She uses all natural, earthy type things for her art, as she explains, again, if you go through the site. Her stuff is quite pricey however and way out of my league though Id love to have some of it as it’s up my alley.
Nam, knowing what I do about you, the 2 of you would prolly hit it off if you ever met or communicated! For any artist, her site is worth a browse at least. Nam, I would love to see some of your future work endeavours in this field, if you choose to share. No pressure though!

Do you have pics of it in the jewelry you’ve done? You should be okay- try not to get your necklace wet and don’t use a chemical jewelry cleaner and it should last a lifetime 🙂
PT, I have lots of stones to work with but sadly have been making few to no sales lately, so I can’t afford more silver to work with. I hope to do more soon though..! I’ll check out your friend’s site now. 🙂

September 22, 2007 at 1:31 am #544445Yes, and the beads are solid brass. I did another color that is brown and black, they are horn 🙂
