If you make the same design of Dark Flash Boulder Opal Pendant, Nam. Let me know. 😀
Will do! You know I take commissions if you ever want a certain piece… 🙂

If you make another like this one: Opalized 2-sided Ammonite Pendant, please let me know!! 😀
Ack, that was my only ammonite. The nice ones are expensive but I’ll keep an eye out for one!
Sweet. I do like the diamond one on there, but it is too expensive for me. But the shape of the stone and the design Dark Flash Bolder Opal Pendant I think would look awesome.March 7, 2007 at 7:43 pm #544402Nambroth wrote:Ack, that was my only ammonite. BAH! I knew it! I have expensive tastes 🙁 Thank you, though!

No problem! I was watching this one.. it’s hard to find the gem-quality ones (with the opal-sheen of colors in them) for a decent price. 🙁

I usually use a mandril, but as long as the paintbrush handle is a uniform thickness, it’d work, as long as your wire isn’t too heavy… The hardest part about that (I think) would be keeping an even tension while you were winding. And a mandril doesn’t have to be fancy… We used ones that were just a couple of pieces of wood with a metal rod to wrap the wire around, until one of the metalworkers got creative! If I can find some pics, I’ll send them to you…
And I forgot… You just need pliers and something to cut the wire. End nippers work wonderfully…Ok, cool! Thanks for the info, I’m going to have to try this again. Maybe the wire I was using was just too thin.
Oh, and I didn’t mean making chainmail was lame! I meant that the bracelet I ended up with was lame. ^_^ It fell apart!

I didn’t think that was what you meant… I thought you meant your efforts were lame, and my meaning was you gave it your best shot with the resources you had, and that certainly isn’t lame in my opinion! If I had something that did video’s, I’d do a short one showing you the basic weave…Hmmm… Have to do some checking. And I’m still looking for pics. All of them are still boxed up in the basement. Behind windstone boxes… lol!!

The necklace got here a week or so ago, but I forgot to let you know. Sorry! It is beautiful!!! Thank you very much! 😀
April 12, 2007 at 7:10 pm #544407I bought a synthetic star sapphire the other day. (Subject of jewelry and buying stones on ebay reminded me….) I was expecting the star part to be kind of fakey, because I’ve heard that you can’t synthesize a star properly. Apparently you can though, because it’s perfect! And cost me less than $15 with shipping from Thailand. Synthetic gems are spiffy! Can they make synthetic opal, do you know? I should go look it up and find out…
April 12, 2007 at 7:25 pm #544408yes, it is called Gilson opal. Like other man made stones, it is actualy grown. It is very pretty and they can seperate the colors so there is green, blue, white, orange, and dark blue. Most jewelry you see with opal set in sterling is the Gilson opal.
April 13, 2007 at 12:34 am #544409oh cool.

My art: featherdust.comMay 9, 2007 at 10:38 am #544412Nam, I got the Ammonite pendant and the Jasper pendant today and they look even better in person! The silver looked a little wavy, kind of, in the photos but in person it looks totally professional. You do a great job on these and I am totally stoked! I cant wait to get some chains!!! I love em! Thank you again!!! (You will have to update your website since the ammonite is no longer on hold 😉 ) That ammonite really is something else. I have never seen anything like it. Its quite amazing.

So glad you like them ski!! I hope you like the little pink jasper too! It was fun to make. Did you find the information sheets useful or annoying? I haven’t gotten any feedback on those yet.
I know, I gotta update like crazy! I have new pendants to put up too. It’s such a pain in the rear and I’ve been so busy this week painting. Eek!Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

I know, I gotta update like crazy! I have new pendants to put up too. It’s such a pain in the rear and I’ve been so busy this week painting. Eek!The sheets were really neat. I didnt know anything about them and now I do. 😀 Sorry! The Jasper is beautiful, too. I just keep getting distracted by the colors in the other one. Its (The Jasper) is gonna look great w/my outfits. I love them both. All I wear is brown and pink (no, not together) so the two are perfect!!
May 9, 2007 at 3:25 pm #544415I found the sheets useful as well. 😀
