the pointy backed ones are easier to handle to me….
but I don’t want to have to order 100’s of them just to get one or two….
At the website I mentioned, they come in sets of 10 (or so depending on size). Of course they offer discounts when you buy multiple packs π
November 15, 2007 at 10:53 am #636576Here’s a trick I learned for picking up flat backed rhinestones. You just need an orange stick – you know those things people use for a manicure. It has a slanted edge and it helps to flatten the edge a bit…just dab the edge with your tongue and press it on the top of the stone. The saliva will make the rhinestone stick to it, so you pick it up and place it where you want it. I learned that from watching women have rhinestones put on their nails. I refuse to pay $3 per rhinestone , so sometimes I put them on myself.
November 15, 2007 at 4:15 pm #636577Hmmmm….I’ll have to go see if I can find an orange stick…I’ve never painted my nails before so it will be an adventure into unexplored territory! My hands are always paint splattered…it would be a waste of time to pretty them up…they’d get ruined in no time. π³ π But anything to conquer those slippery little stones!
November 15, 2007 at 5:26 pm #636578Well drats! I was rinsing off the dragon I was working on last night because I didn’t like how he was turning out and the jewel fell out. π₯ I think it went down the drain. I wasn’t exactly happy with the jewel color though. The topaz didn’t seem yellow enough for me.
Does anyone know what size crystal goes in the PYO dragon’s head? I want to look around and see if I can find a brighter yellow one to replace the one that went down the drain.
November 15, 2007 at 6:13 pm #636579I got a small black unicorn that arrived without it’s jewel and Susie sent me one – I am a klux on things like this but luckily I managed to get it in the right place the first time.
November 15, 2007 at 6:40 pm #636580Susie would probably be your best bet. I’m sure she’d help! π

If I had your talent, I would be using it, too. π
November 15, 2007 at 7:57 pm #636582Half my clothes have paint on them somewhere….I’ll get dressed in my nicer clothes that I don’t paint in and this idea will hit me and I’ll be downstairs getting messy before I realize it… π π Or if I actually remember not to paint, one of the babies will spit up on me in some bizarre color…never fails. π
November 15, 2007 at 8:25 pm #636583π I can just picture the babies thinking, “Hmmm…Mommy looks too clean. Let me fix that!”. π

The crystals that Windstone uses are PP size measurements but a 3mm stone should fit perfect if the cut of the stone isn’t too ‘deep’! I use 3mm stones in all my PYO dragons.

The only piece I’ve ever had lose a jewel was my black crouching griffin chick, and it only took about four tries to get it glued back in. π
November 18, 2007 at 1:10 am #636588I just lick a finger and stick the flat side of the gem to my finger with spit! Then stick it in. I clean them off well before I ship them to the factory. It’s a personal touch from me to you!! π
