No Griffiness is right, I legally cannot ship animal parts, including feathers, overseas. I used to ‘get away’ with it but then when the bird flue scare came around they banned shipping any feathers or bird goods overseas (or into the country) without permits. If it got caught they’d destroy the feather. It’s stupid but since I don’t have a permit I can’t ship them internationally. π
My feathers are obviously very clean but legally I’m not allowed.
That looks awesome Frozen! I just now saw this thread… I’ve been so swamped that I missed it. Awesome job!

I would love one too, but, I’m so afraid of it getting stopped by customs. They would probably destroy it….
That feather is beautiful. I would love one with a fox on it. Or a wolf….
February 26, 2008 at 11:59 pm #669313I read Jens website π I’ll order one someday when the curse is lifter! that or i’ll fly over and hide it in my luggage on the way home π
They really are something Jen!!
February 27, 2008 at 12:03 am #669314That’s really pretty Frozen!
I know, it really sucks about the international shipping thing. I know I ‘lose’ sales because of it. The chances are that most would probably make it to their international destination okay- but there is always a risk of them inspecting the package and destroying the feather and/or sending me a fine. :/
It’s not likely since I am not doing a lot of commercial selling of feather products, but at the end of the day it’s not worth the risk. π

thank you….and where I have it hanging all the metallic just kind of reflects the light really well….so it looks even cooler…
yeah…International shipping is nuts on stuff…I send my friend in Spain a lot of stuff….and sometimes it goes through fine…and sometimes they dig all through the boxes….
so I understand not really worth trying…
February 28, 2008 at 6:05 pm #669316That frame turned out really pretty!!! All your hard work certainly paid off!!! π

February 29, 2008 at 1:20 am #669319You guys are joking but I DO turkey hunt! It’s how I first started painting feathers. I don’t like to waste anything from an animal and I mean anything, so I saved all the feathers. One day I thought well, I’ll try and paint some… here I am today!
I want to say though that most of my work is on naturally molted domestic goose feathers. I will always say in the feather description where it comes from, because I know that is important to some people. Frozen’s feather is a molted goose feather.I have done pet portraits, yes. π
