It must have been a dream come true for you be asked to join Windstone in painting some of the most beautiful pieces ever done!
Besides what you do for Windstone… do you do a lot of artwork involving birds? You just do such wonderful feather barring/detailing on your griffins. They have a perfectly natural appearance.
I wish I had the talent to paint for Windstone. Melody and company have seen my work and can tell you what I mean!!January 8, 2008 at 9:55 pm #653016travistie wrote:It must have been a dream come true for you be asked to join Windstone in painting some of the most beautiful pieces ever done!

Hehe! It was some sort of dream, that’s for sure! I jest, I really do love my job with them. I’m just glad to have a job! Art careers are very, very hard even when times are good.
Actually I’ve been painting and doing fantasy art for long before I even heard of Windstone. I’ve been painting dragons (2D, not sculptures) since I could hold a brush, and have been doing art seriously for the last 11 years. Windstone is only a very recent development in my art career. Most people know me for my other work, ironically- while most people here know me only for my Windstone art. 🙂
And yes, I have been painting birds forever too! I love them and am owned by 4 of them currently. 😉
I have a whole website: http://featherdust.critter.net/
It’s got a ton of my work on it. I’d be honored if anyone wanted to visit it. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comJanuary 8, 2008 at 10:04 pm #653017I’ve been to your site. One of these days I would love to commission a painting from you. I should probably wait until you’ve moved and settled… 😆

I’ve been dying to know since the day John told me he had never met her in person.

Yep. I have dogs, big harry Siberian Huskies and I am constantly sweeping up fur, and other things. The best one was the squirrel they killed, ate and then played ball with the skull. Now that was enough to make any one hurl. 😯

😯 😯 😯 *GAGS over squirrel skull ball* 😯 😯 😯 My cats like to bring in almost, mostly dead birds and play with them. It’s really bad when they get bored with the poor thing and you find it twitching somewhere in the house! YUUUURG!

You do some very beautiful artwork. I especially like the feather paintings. Do you sell those too? I really love all the ones with the ravens, hawk, and owl. That red-winged black bird is cool too! I am so into birds of prey though… but mostly owls. My favorite owl is the barn owl. I think their coloring, and heart-shaped face is just lovely. Have you ever tried one of those on a feather?
I did a feather painting of an eagle on a turkey feather one time. I never tried it before, and it actually didn’t turn out all that bad… for a beginner that is. It was nothing compared to what you can do though! 😆

Yes, I sell them! I guess I sell them too well.. all the ones I have are sold! They are more popular than I would have thought. They usually sell out within a week of my finishing them!
I haven’t done a barn owl yet. I should! They are truly strange owls, dumb as a board too, but they look neat!
