I know that they can xray packages so I would like to know why the feel they had to open it..

Maybe Mel’s dragons looked so real on the x-ray machine that they thought you were trying to smuggle over live (or mounted) reptiles, lol!

on an x-ray all they would see is a blob and would not know what it was. I’ so sorry to see things like this especially to large retired pieces like this
