Congrats! I love girls…my daughter is a constant joy, and I just love watching her grow into the person she is becoming.
Name suggestions:
I wanted Selea (sa-lee-ah) but got voted down, before we had our son I was suggesting Alexis, but hubby declared that name was too sexy for a daughter. LOL!
Our son’s name was chosen by me when I was 18, before I ever met hubby, Alexander Jacob, and that’s what he is called.
Our daughter ended up being named Karli Lynne.
I would choose something that isn’t so common these days, just about every name ever used on a soap opera these days has slews of kids named after the characters. Also older names are not being used much.
Family names of the women in my lines are:
Nina Chloe, (she went by Chloe, hated Nina), Grace Belle, goes by either still. Ruby, Stacey, Nancy, Janette.
I’ve always liked Belle, and no one really uses it much anymore
Janis Belle would work, easy to say fast when kiddo is in trouble. So I suggest that.
Neysa, would be another name I always liked.
Skye is one I have always loved, but unfortunately the rest of the planet caught on to it too, so it is now overused. *sigh*
Good luck with the name choosing, it is always a tough one, kiddo has to have their own identiry, and a name they won’t hate.Mine is Shawna Leigh.
But for online I prefer Kyrin, mostly because it is easy to type!
Kyrin

I like Neysa! Of course, to me, it’s a unicorn’s name (Piers Anthony fan here), so that’s just great. 😀
Thanks for sharing your sonogram, purpledoggy. Everybody’s having babies… I want one! I’ve always liked Autumn for a “normal” name. (My chosen name for [hopefully] my future girl is far from normal, which is why I say that.)
If you want something that’s not super popular, or if you’re just curious, I suggest visiting the Social Security website to find out what names are the new “Jennifer” (the most popular when I was growing up). You can find that here. They’ve got some really helpful search options. 😀
August 16, 2007 at 6:38 am #608301As soon as you put the name on the birth certificate, you will think of one you like better. It never fails.

Some of the names these days are down right silly and I think the parents should start saving in case the child stuck with a weird name wants to change it. I think it was Australia that refused to let a couple name their kid 4Real so they are planning on naming him Superman. But that’s just me.
It was in New Zealand and ‘Superman’ has been turned down too.
My dad also suggested ‘Mergatroid’ for all us. Yeah he can be a bit of a goof at times 🙄
August 16, 2007 at 6:57 am #608303I am glad someone has some sense. Who wants to go through life being called “Superman??”
August 16, 2007 at 9:37 pm #608304Congrats on finding out that it is a girl. I like girls better than boys, but don’t tell my newphew that. I have a couple of baby names that I was thinking of using if I did ever have a daughter and I like picking out different names.
Zandria
Xandria
TyrinI had more, but I need to find them. Let us know what name you choose. 😀
August 16, 2007 at 10:03 pm #608305Congratulations! I am so happy for you! I personally want a boy because our family is overtaken by girls! Congrats again!

I would have loved to be named Megatroid. It has a transformers ring to it. 😆
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~
