This male that I found is EXTREMELY dark. Is it the camera or is this one of those dark early ones? It looks almost black!

Has anyone noticed the ton of Peacock Males on ebay lately? Compared to those this one does seems really dark.
June 3, 2008 at 5:13 pm #710332I can’t tell.. photos ‘lie’ about colors all the time.
Here is another photo of a black one a collector has:

Notice that the one on eBay does seem to have a dark blue sheen though, and has green on him. None of the black ones I’ve seen have any green. I can’t tell for sure though!

June 3, 2008 at 6:22 pm #710335I think it’s an older one. He looks like mine with bad lighting.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

June 3, 2008 at 9:24 pm #710337He looks dark to be but like what was said before it could be bad lighting
June 3, 2008 at 10:30 pm #710338$32 for shipping….ouch…I think the last time I shipped a male it cost somewhere around $21… He is a pretty one either way. 🙂
June 3, 2008 at 10:39 pm #710339The lighter blue on his snout makes me think it’s lighting, but you never know. I’d ask the seller for some more pictures

June 3, 2008 at 11:40 pm #710341It’s hard to say if he’s one of the black dragons or not. I tried playing with the curves in photoshop to lighten things up, but the lighting is so wierd in those auction photos that it’s really hard to tell.
It looks more like the dragon that Tintaglia has than a regular peacock, but the peacock color really varied over the years so there’s really no way to know for sure.
