Hey everyone,
I’ve been lurking here since they started the forum but just recently registered because I haven’t been collecting much lately. My girlfriend at the time and I started collecting Windstone Dragons shortly after we got together back in ’04, so it was a nice little joint collection we had going of about 25 pieces. We broke up and I agreed to let her keep them all as long as she paid me for my half (about 10 Dragons) once she had the money. However she wouldn’t even give me half the money for bills right before she moved so I knew I would never see my $500 for the Dragons. Long story short, she left all her boxes packed up at my place until she had a new place. So I just made some boxes lighter for her 8)Anyway I’ve bought a few here and there and I’m up to aboout 20 now, quite a random assortment but they look great regardless.
Now that we got that out of the way question for anyone who might have a clue. I’ve looked on eBay, searched the forums and googled the Large Black Wizard and all I know is it was released in ’88, retired in ’96 and sold for $190 (all thanks to Astral Castle). I have the chance to get one but I’m undecided…are they really hard to find? As in if I pass this one up will I ever see another? Also what do they sell for, I’ve noticed the smaller ones seem to sell for less then they were issued for but is it the same with this one?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry for the lengthy post, I tend to get a little long fingered 🙄
April 24, 2007 at 8:18 pm #566192I think I have seen a couple of large black Wizards in a couple of years. I am not sure that they do pop up often. If that is something that you would like then I would say go for it because who knows when you will see it again.
April 24, 2007 at 8:30 pm #566193Wow! I didn’t even know there was a black wizard…
Anywho, welcome!

Welcome to active membership; -)
April 24, 2007 at 9:10 pm #566195Does the robe have red inside it? Either way, the large black wizard does not come up a lot. If its in mint condition-get it. Just my opinion.
April 24, 2007 at 9:57 pm #566196It’s not around much. I agree with everybody else. If you want it, get it.
April 24, 2007 at 10:58 pm #566197I had completely forgotten about them. It’s been ages since I’ve seen one.
April 24, 2007 at 11:17 pm #566198The Black wizards are rare (like everyone else mentioned), but like all wizards their resell values are really low. I wouldn’t buy it for an investment, but if you can get it for about $100 I would say go for it. If the price gets closer to $200 then it probably should only be purchased if you really want it for your personal collection.
April 24, 2007 at 11:20 pm #566199Would depend on the price, but I say go for it!!! Welcome btw, I made you a thread in Community! =P
April 25, 2007 at 12:12 am #566200Thanks for all the replies!
I thought I had mentioned the price in the first post but I didn’t…it’s $200 that she wants for it. I thought it was pretty cool and I’ve never seen it before but the price was my issue. Not being able to find any resale prices on it I didn’t know if it was worth it or not. It’s something I can easily live without if it’s not a good price for it.April 25, 2007 at 6:50 am #566201CJKToyBay wrote:Thanks for all the replies!

They sell horribly on Ebay lately. Any color. The emeralds go for the most. welcome to the forum!

I concur with Ski. At that price, it would have to stay in your collection. If you ever had to sell you will definately take a hit.
