Great stuff! Reminded me of a violinmaker’s website that I had come across a while back. Take a look. (and scroll down to the pics.)

          Very cool!

I hope it’s not considered stealing his idea? I didn’t even know that website existed until now. Incredible artwork and beautiful detail.

I really don’t thing you need to worry about that. I just really like this kind of stuff and thought you would enjoy it. In a slightly different vein, we used to manufacture mouthpiece ligatures for a guy who also had a retail music store and he would pick up old brass instruments that were on longer repairable, take them to someone with a big metal press and have them completely squashed flat. Hung on the wall in his shop as artwork he could get hundreds of dollars for them.

Now THAT’s a good way to get revenge on trumpets… 😉

thats awesome I love “green art” where you refurbish and fix something someone else would just chuck or give up on! I like picking things up from thrift stores and giving them a new lease on life!!!

Just “finished” this today… might put a background on it, might not.

“Fence cats” <– working title, but I want to come up with something better.

They’ll be with some other pieces at Anthrocon’s Art Show this year.

Really cool! I love how you did it. What about Moon Cats or Luna Cats?

Well, I wanted to name it something that ties into its musical “background.” I was going to call it “New York Counterpoint” but if you’re not an avid clarinet fan, you probably won’t recognize the piece of music. I was thinking something like “Moonlight Serenade” too, but the cats aren’t obviously yowling. XD

I know it isn’t really the word fur, but sort of a joke on the spelling: Für Elise 😉

Or the Kit-Kat Club (more jazz-themed in name….)

If you did add a background, I could totally see a blue fabric from the lining of an instrument case, or a flat piece of blue glass.

Oooh, good suggestions! And I was actually asking about an old case with blue velvet I could destroy–errr, use. My schtick is to use only instrument parts and adhesives. (and BOY was I glad to find out we use Cyno Acrilade!… superglue)
