Back in the day….(summer of ’96 before 9th grade) I had a rats nest of a tangle at the nape of my neck and we chopped it all off in a bowler cut just above the ears. It has been growing since then with a trim every here and there. I give it 2-3 years to be back down to my bum though.
I feel kind of bad posting this stuff as I don’t want to take away from DDVM’s happiness at what we accomplished for her, or DM’s winning the raffle.
I would like to say that being able to do this in support for Pam and everyone who has or has had cancer makes me so proud and happy that I can show my appreciation and love and friendship.
I did this so that when Pam comes out here she wouldn’t be alone in her breezy new hair doo, and I will proudly stand tall in representation of cancer awareness wherever I go!
A blessing to all of you who have been here for Pam, and to all those of you who are dealing with cancer or life threatening/hindering crappy stuff, whether personally or with a friend of family member.
I send you my love and heartfelt warm wishes and prayers.
November 30, 2008 at 7:47 am #743319I remember looking just like that when I lost my hair during chemo treatment for leukemia. It was tough thing to go through. I was 16 at the time.
That is a wonderful thing you did Nirvanacat. I personally really admire you for doing it, and I’m sure whoever gets your hair will really love and appreciate it. 🙂November 30, 2008 at 2:51 pm #743320That is such a beautiful donation from your part Cat!
It has to be the most wonderful donation she could receive. You are a great lady!
And Pam is lucky to have you as a friend.
November 30, 2008 at 2:56 pm #743321That’s awesome! It suits you, too.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Maybe in a year or so I could donate.

November 30, 2008 at 5:44 pm #743323That is too cool. You two have fun. 😉
November 30, 2008 at 5:48 pm #743324That’s so nice that you donated! My hair doesn’t grow long enough to get the 6″ they need – so… I’ve never donated. That and I dye my hair, and I think that’s a no no too.

Like I said the REAL winner here was Pam the Benefactor in all this. I’m bald by nature anyway so if you are heading to Disneyland let me know when and maybe I can head down that way and put myself into the completely shaved mode and join the party!!
The more bald heads the merrier!!
Could you imagine the entire Forum showing up with very shirt or bald heads all in support of Pam?? Wouldn’t that be GREAT???

ROFL that would be awesome! Maybe you could grab Mimi and maker her come too 😆 Though I doubt she would shave her head 😮We’re probably going to go Sunday the 14th so that Pam will for sure have enough energy to go to the Dinner Gala on the 13th, and then we’ll play it by ear and see how she’s feeling. If anything we may just do dinner at Downtown Disney and watch the fireworks. We’ll see how it goes! I’ll send you a PM when I get more info.
November 30, 2008 at 9:01 pm #743328The 14th of this month??
I will not have extra money by then especially for a hotel etc down there

I hear you on that one. Well, if you make it we’ll be happy to have you, if not you’ll be here in spirit!December 1, 2008 at 6:07 am #743330I think that’s really sweet of both of you. You really are true friends.
December 1, 2008 at 9:42 am #743331We’re both starting at ground zero, we shaved each others heads down to the skin. It’s so weird….and SHINY! 😮
December 1, 2008 at 10:00 am #743332That is really nice of you to do that for DDVM.
