Wait, wait, does this mean no unis today?
September 29, 2011 at 9:54 pm #858527Hey Susie,
Mine arrived okay. However, his front hooves were sticking out (the box was kind of thin at the hoof point) and he was half out of his bag. His tail was also exposed on the highest point.
I remarked to my husband at the time I was surprised he made it okay, but I thought the poor packers were probably just in a rush with all of us frothing at the mouth!

No! These are packed very carefully! I can’t imagine what that unicorns ride was like to knock him half out of his box and bag!!Amazing he made it.
September 29, 2011 at 9:58 pm #858528We don’t know yet. I refuse to offer them for sale until they are boxed (Just in case one scampers off into the distance and can’t be caught… these guys are frisky!) We are getting closer to developing a quick fix so that we can get these safely out!
September 29, 2011 at 10:00 pm #858529Oh! I should add, because you guys are reshipping these guys, that the plastic bag he’s in can put pressure on his horn! Pack them with plastic bag open at the horn end (so he can breathe) and tape the two halves of the inserts together firmly around him (like a straight jacket) so he cannot wiggle. Then use plenty of stuffing around the box so that he’s cushioned from the outside world.
September 29, 2011 at 10:07 pm #858531Mine were in so tight that there was no way they could wiggle. I couldn’t even get them out without cutting the tape on the bottom and then shoving the insert out through the top.
September 29, 2011 at 10:44 pm #858535Oh, now you tell me about the bag/horn quandry! I hope the guy I sent on makes it okay!
September 29, 2011 at 10:49 pm #858536Oh Kiya! I hope he does too! So sorry we didn’t realize this earlier!
September 29, 2011 at 10:54 pm #858538Hah, oh, don’t be sorry. He’s insured, so hopefully it will be fine either way.
I wasn’t trying to make you guys feel bad! Who knew this craziness was going to happen? 🙂 I wasn’t blaming you at all!
Just thinking it was ironic I shipped him yesterday. LOL

September 30, 2011 at 1:45 am #858579Oh NO I’m really worried now!
I haven’t been getting stuff shipped canada post/ usps in a long time because in my area I’ve had so many issues with items arriving broken. However I assumed with these since they were packed in original boxes they’d be fine, I have never had something sent directly from windstone broken.
Ugh and he won’t arrive until next week at least! If it was sent first class international to canada do they still have damage insurance? 🙁 What do I do if gets here broken?
September 30, 2011 at 1:59 am #858585Both mine arrived safe and sound. I could see them before I had the package open al the way; the inserts were not snug together and I could see a golden chestnut leg and a purple leg…I just about tore the boxes open with my teeth!
September 30, 2011 at 2:12 am #858592Mine is still stuck in customs. 😛
September 30, 2011 at 2:55 am #858598How about taping the inserts closed with packing tape before they go in the inner box? A strip on each end should hold, right?
September 30, 2011 at 2:58 am #858599Mine arrived safe and sound, but his inserts seemed to be a little off center.
September 30, 2011 at 3:32 am #858608Mine were packed fine and shipped fine, the box was even flawless. I had to shake the boxes to get the inserts out! They were VERY tightly packed.
