Glad you made it there safely!
But dang…how did you manage to get the wild chickens to let you pet them? π― I saw them all over when I was in Kauai but they looked like pretty tough characters…
May 8, 2008 at 2:44 pm #694630Yeah my hubby used to complain about the commercials in Germany too. Heck he likes watching commercials after coming back from Iraq even. π

FYI: You are not supposed to feed the chickens… or the peacocks.
May 8, 2008 at 5:51 pm #694632The only active volcano I remember in the islands is on the big island of Hawaii is there another one? I do remember it stunk something terrible.

I did visit the beach, though only for a few minutes, and I got to pet wild chickens (baby chicks, too) and a peacock. In case ya’ll didnt know, it rains here every hour. Dumbest thing I have ever seen. Doesnt bother to get dark or anything… sun never stops shining, in fact. It just starts to rain.
And we had crappy AFN commercials in Germany. No commercials for products or anything like that… only bad acting by Army folks telling us not to drink and drive, or sexually harass people. They have been repeating the same ones for 20 years at least. π
I remember the daily rain when we were on Maui. Afterwards there would be the most beautiful rainbows! π

π lets see…..pennies, commercials, AC, doritos…what’s next??? πThese Doritos had two kinds in ONE bag!!! I had never seen them before, which is why I had to buy them for the exorbant amount of $4.05. π I have not even used the A/C in the room yet. I bet the maids think I am weird. When we went to eat lunch yesterday, my moms friend Stewart wanted to eat inside cuz of the A/C. I was freezing. π He is a vegetarian, too, so he ate a plain salad. It looked very unappetizing. He doesnt even eat dressing!! (or eggs, or cheese…)
I have spent all morning out at the pool. I get to move into housing next week, and I will enroll Justin in school tomorrow. I think I will have a leg up on everyone else when we start in processing on Monday π
May 8, 2008 at 9:31 pm #694636You’re freezing??? I thought it was in the 80’s today….wonder if I read the weather wrong. π
What kind of Doritos are those? I haven’t seen mixed ones. Maybe I need to go to Target. π
His salad sounds extremely dull. π

May 9, 2008 at 5:24 am #694643Late on the bandwagon again, but I’m glad you got to Hawaii safely, Ski. Sounds like you’re having a good time.
I’ll miss you in this time zone though, for sure. π -
