We ended up having to make two trips with the UHaul truck because both my husband and I (mostly me though) underestimated just how much stuff we had.
lol, that was a fear with me too! We just kept taking stuff out to the van and they were like it is getting pretty full… 😆 But we managed….with the uhaul truck..and 3 cars full…and I still have to pick up a few thinks and go back to clean the apartment but not too bad overall I think…They were just not sure at first. 😆

My friends and I have moved several times. The biggest complaint about Uhaul is you do not know where you will be getting your truck until the that day. Most of us ended up using Rider. You can also get a big discount from them if you reserve online.
This was my first personal experience with uhaul…I doubt I’ll recommend them anytime soon. Might try Rider next time…though I hope I don’t have to do that again anytime soon. 🙂

That sounds like a great idea!!! I’d hate to do that drive. Lucky for me I have this wonderful father who volunteered/was drafted to drive it for me. 😀 But I don’t want to do it next time. I’m going to keep this in mind for next time…though I do have a lot of stuff…and will probably get more…(windstones, of course!)

Uggg….I think it will be about 2-3 months before we get settled. So much to clean and deal with. And I was just really sick on top of everything. It took me out for about 2 days and I’m still weak. Things are still nuts trying to sort everything out…ugggg.

Thanks…I don’t wish this one anyone. I was really sick for a straight 48 hours. I just could not stop throwing up…etc. I’m still recovering now. I feel pretty weak. All I’ve really been doing is sleeping and resting. Luckily I have internet right now as I would miss this place too much and I’m not much good for anything else. Can’t believe how much I’ve been napping. Which is a sure sign of how bad I got sick. I almost never nap unless I’m extremely overtired or sick. Think I might go take another nap now that I’m thinking about it. Take care all.

1. CONGRATULATIONS on the wedding news Keplilly! That’s awesome!
2. CONGRATULATIONS on the new house too!
3. MOVING IS EVIL!!! escpecially with U-haul, they have never ever gotten it right when I rented from the, no truck, lost reservation, evil rude people, broken down truck, etc. BOOO uhaul, should be called U-Suck.
4. Virtual chicken noodle soup to you, being sick sucks! the vomiting is the worst part, I think I can deal with anything but that, and to be in the middle of a move…ugh. {hugs and warm fuzzies to you}5. Jen, where in NY? I didn’t know you moved!

Which will include the majority of my windstones from storage. That will be this Saturday probably. They will finally come out of storage! Yay!

You pack it and they deliver it? Nice, I don’t think that they exist here but, it would be nice if they did.
They exist everywhere! In fact they are the only company that I talked to that agreed to deliver the trailer anywhere, even my backwoods little city! Their hubs are in nearly every major city, as they are a freight company. They will bring a trailer nearly anywhere. Only thing is that they don’t do in-state relocations- only long distance ones (which was perfect for us, as it’s a 900 odd mile drive)
It seems a little expensive but then I sat down and figued out how much a place like Uhaul would charge… all the milage fees, the gas costs (uhaul trucks EAT gas!!), the pain that the trucks break down all the time, having to worry about driving the truck, what would we do to transport the car? And the pets? Etc. In the end it was only a tiny bit more expensive but well worth the headache it saved.
