I’ll be near Greenville SC.
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

You’ll have to check out the Windstone Dealer who is listed for Greenville: Boardwalk & Park Place at Haywood Mall. *Drools over Web site* I want a gaming store like that near me! Darn if only Greenville was a little closer to me. Five hours is a long way to go with a preschooler, even for Windstones.

I’ve been there before! It is a neat store!

February 24, 2008 at 6:49 am #668011Wow…I hate moving. I’ve snuck over to some internet access so I can say hi. It has been a long day. It began when I went to pick up the uhaul truck. I get to where I call to make the reservation right around the corner and he has no idea what I’m talking about. It is like I didn’t make the reservation??? and he doesn’t have any trucks??? He calls around to 3 other locations to see if my reservation got transferred to them or if they have any trucks. Not finding it or any trucks he then helps someone with a credit card transaction. He makes another call and finds my reservation. It had been transfered and no one had called me to let me know! So he sends me over there but can’t give me directions or an address. At least he gave me a number and a company name for the place! Of course it would have helped if the phone line wasn’t busy every time I called! I tried to call my roomate to see if she knew where it might be as she was more familiar with that area then me. After making multiple phone calls I was finally able to get ahold of her. She was able to give me some basic directions which combined with finally getting through to the company’s number we were able to get there. We were over an hour late to pick up the truck from when I agreed to be there. This place was a bit of a trip from where my apartment is. On a lucky note they upgraded the size of the truck for free as they didn’t have the size I requested. Which was a very good thing as we packed it with all my stuff and wouldn’t have been able to do so with a smaller truck. So we finally get the truck back and start packing. This process is crazy and insane! I’m grateful for the help but I didn’t need to be yelled at. I really hate moving. To boot my fiance is sick which I didn’t realise till partway into packing the truck as I didn’t see him till after I helped pick up the truck. Finally we got just about everything packed up! Then I got pulled to help my mother out. We went to look at some furniture so I could give her my opinion while the guys headed up to south carolina with the truck to the house to unload. We looked at the furniture and got moving and were about an hour behind the guys only to find they had already unpacked everything except the vehicle we had. I was a little miffed that they didn’t think I could find the house by myself. True, I had only been there once before but it wasn’t that difficult. I made it there only to see the guys diving into my car. They decided to go out and get something to drink….only to forget to buy cups to drink it out of! Guys guys guys! Gotta love them anyway! They did help me move. I was going to clean and get the place started only to discover that the water has not been turned on yet!!! Opps! It will be turned on Monday now…Guess I’ll delay the cleaning till then…hard to clean without water. I was too tired anyway. Instead I did a little shopping and have crashed elsewhere. And thus goes the first day of moving!
You never really realize how important water is till you don’t have any…

February 24, 2008 at 6:59 am #668012Whew, what a day! 🙂 Glad everything turned out alright, though. Except the water, that’s a bummer.
February 24, 2008 at 4:06 pm #668013You never realize just how much stuff you have until it comes time to move. I remember when I was moving in with my husband after we got married. He and a friend had gotten most of my stuff loaded on the truck from my apartment and I popped my head out and asked if they had gotten the chest-of-drawers. They went “What chest-of-drawers?” “The one in the closet.” “The closet? 😯 What else do you have in there?” 😆
We ended up having to make two trips with the UHaul truck because both my husband and I (mostly me though) underestimated just how much stuff we had.
February 24, 2008 at 6:37 pm #668014Keplilly, I know exactly how you feel. I am glad to hear you are mostly surviving the move. 🙂
My friends and I have moved several times. The biggest complaint about Uhaul is you do not know where you will be getting your truck until the that day. Most of us ended up using Rider. You can also get a big discount from them if you reserve online.
February 24, 2008 at 6:39 pm #668015Moving is a literal pain in the you know where! We moved 4 times in one year. If you need help packing/transporting let me know and I’ll see if I can arrange things to come and help (I’m an excellent packer!) Good Luck and hang in there; it’ll be over soon… 😀

February 24, 2008 at 8:12 pm #668016February 24, 2008 at 10:47 pm #668017I’ve done a U-haul move 5 times and each time it was a nightmare. Never, NEVER did U-haul get the transaction right, or they ‘lost’ a reservation, or they ran out of trucks… etc. Horrible! I’m sorry Kep! When we moved up to NY two months ago we did Upack, essentially they deliver a full tractor-trailer trailer, you pack it, and they haul and deliver it. It actually ended up being cheaper than U-haul and it saved us a huge headache of driving a U-Haul truck 900 miles!

You pack it and they deliver it? Nice, I don’t think that they exist here but, it would be nice if they did.
