If you had the chance to volunteer for the Olymic Games would you do it?

The company I work for is sponsoring the games in 2010, because we are sponsoring there are 1000’s of volunteer positions open. But, I live in Ontario. I’d have to fly to Vancouver, and pay for lodging. (At least I don’t think they would pay for your lodging….) Plus I would be missing about 2 weeks of work. At this time it’s not feasable but, maybe in a year and a half I’d have enough money to cover this vacation. I don’t think I’d do it (Even though I’d get into whatever event I volunteer for, for free. That would be soooo cool.)

    But, would you do it?

If I had the time and the money, it would be a wonderful opportunity. Unfortunately, like you, I have neither right now. 🙂

It could be an awesome experience, Romeo! I would sign up for it. I’m sure they’ll have a waiting list. By the time the Olympics get there, if you don’t have the means, you should be able to back out, no?

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

The experience would be incredible, and I would love to do it! Now, would my finances cooperate with me so that I could…? That’s a whole other story. 🙂

My Male and I have discussed it, if we could afford to do it, we would. However that would only be in 4 years once he had his ticket, and the Games are in 2, so not happening. I think also if you don’t have your hotel booked you may be SOL on somewhere to stay unless they’re setting up some type of “Volunteer Village”.

Well, I would invest the money in a trip elsewhere, since I’m not interested in the Olympics. But that’s just me.
Then again, I’ve learned one should never pass up the opportunity to travel.

Check the website with regards to housing or even send them an e-mail asking about it. I seem to remember seeing a news thing talking about housing and stuff. I was too young when the Olympics were here in 1988 to volunteer but my dad and neighbor did and had a blast! Do some checking out and If it looks possible, I say go for it

If it’s feasible, I say do it. You might not get a second chance.
