Poor puppy 🙁 . I’d love to help to 😉 .
July 8, 2010 at 2:20 am #819705Thanks you guys. I will run the idea by Jen and see what happens. I do know that Paypal doesn’t allow “raffles” so it would have to be set up like a ticket system or something. I want to finish up 2 griffins I have in the works first for commissioners and then I’ll get to work on something whether it be a raffle or something else.
In the mean time, I posted a new small dragon for sale and one of my guinea pigs too to get me started. 🙂 Thanks everyone!

July 10, 2010 at 11:02 pm #819707Right now I have him in Iams Healthy Harvest. That’s been about 3 weeks now, before he was on Beneful but my vet said that it was crap food. 🙁

Or a grain free food? Or something with a different protein source- say if his has chicken now, try venison or beef, etc. instead. Good luck 🙂
July 12, 2010 at 9:28 pm #819709Well, I wanted to do a raffle a while back, and I wanted it to go towards a chiropractic fund to get the help that my back desperately needs, but I was told it was illegal to do that. So I don’t know if you can.

If its food issues, I agree. There was a whole thread about dog food and cat food and what’s good. Basically, look at the ingrediants. The first ingrediant should be another animal. Duck, lamb, veal, beef, chicken etc. and from there there should be no corn, no by products (horns, feet and feathers) and ideally, nothing you couldnt find in a groccery store. The best kinds have whole grains, fruit and vegetables-but if your dog is anything like my cats/dog, you spend $11 for a bag of food, they eat one kernal if you’re lucky and turn up their nose. My Russian Blue LOVES Meow Mix, but its total junk food. Corn and animal by products. I try to at least feed her Science Diet but it makes her sick. Go fig.
Ive heard Royal Canin/Canine is a good one. My boyfriend used to work at a vet and at Petco, and thats his recommendation. Personally I dont remember specific brands.

Did Ein have this itchy problem before you switched? Honestly, Beneful may not be the best, but as we like to say in rural clinics: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
If he didn’t have this issue before you switched food, switch him back! Feeding Beneful is preferable to the unending skin irritation, just ask Ein. Once it’s cleared up, if you want to try looking for a premium brand food, try one with a novel protein and carb (duck and potato, etc.). But if you don’t want to do that, and he was doing fine on Beneful, you shouldn’t feel pressured to change it if it’s what works best for you (now, if you were feeding ol’ Roy, we might have to talk…).
July 13, 2010 at 10:01 pm #819712He’s had this issue since he was a puppy, it just keeps getting worse and worse as he gets older. Now he’s starting to get it in his ears too 🙁

July 14, 2010 at 1:18 am #819714This is going to sound weird, but I’ll just throw it out there.
When Saber was a pup, he developed a big rash on his belly. I took him to one vet who ran some tests and then prescribed him some pills. They said he was having a reaction to grass. Go figure… a hunting breed allergic to grass. Anyway, after spending the money on meds and visit (and fighting pills down his throat), it didn’t help. I went to another vet, and they prescribed something entirely different.
They told me to go to the store and buy a bottle of medicated Selson Blue. 😮 At first I questioned their treatment advice, but I figured it was worth a shot. A bottle of shampoo wasn’t going to break the bank. Waaaay cheaper than the meds! Well, I tried it, and yes, it worked. I love simple fixes. 🙂
Now, I’m not a vet, but anytime my dogs get a little itchy or flaky, I grab the dandruff shampoo. I just seems to help soothe their skin.
July 14, 2010 at 1:26 am #819715LOL! That’s actually pretty funny because That and nutrugina T Gel are the shampoos my vet told me to use as well. They don’t seem to be helping, but he’s not really getting worse either.

But I hope Ein feels better….
July 14, 2010 at 2:52 pm #819717Well, I did discuss it with Jennifer and we think it might be better, (if I do decide to go with this idea) if it was done off of them forum like on livejournal or something of that nature.
