When I purchased your Serpentine Prototype Old Warrior the felt base read “Sepentine”. Being a stickler for spelling, I requested the felt pad be changed before he was shipped to me with the correction….Sorry, Melody, it was really picky of me and a PITA for you and Windstone both.
My other concern, though, was that in the future someone would think that the piece was a fake because of the misspelling. I’m not planning on selling him….unless you paint me something I love more… π
Unbelievably, though, Pam responded with no hesitation and said “No problem.” What a great company Windstone is!!! It is wonderful how you manage such a large company and fan base with personal attention and respect. I feel appreciated and valued, and truly enjoy seeing your posts on the forum.
Now, looking back at it, I wonder if I devalued the piece by having the felt changed?

I don’t think so…but if you are worried about it, we could write a letter that explains that I am idiot who often leaves letters out. Usually, when Pam brings me something to sign, she Googles the word ( to be sure ) and writes it down for me, then checks my spelling.
June 20, 2012 at 5:49 pm #882117I think you’re okay with this whole thing! Even though his pad was altered, it is still authenticated and signed by Melody! So if the day comes when you would like to sell him, just let the other member know the situation and I’m sure they’ll understand. π
I know I would! I actually own two Young Unicorns that have spelling errors. Even if their pads were fixed one day, I would still value and love them as much as I did when I first opened their boxes!

Hahahaha, I laughed at this. I’ve googled words, too! π
No, I am not worried about it at all. It was just kind of an idle curiousity. Thanks so much for your response!

Melody, when someone is as artistically versatile as you are, you can never be considered an idiot!
A “Spelling Rebel”, maybe… but never an idiot! πJune 20, 2012 at 6:36 pm #882121…we could write a letter that explains that I am idiot who often leaves letters out.

A “Spelling Rebel”, maybe… but never an idiot! πAgreed as well! π “Spelling Rebel” I like that! XD
Plus if it makes you feel better, I often have to google words, or spellcheck simple words, cause once I question it, I don’t know if I’m right or not! π Spelling is over rated anyway π hehe
June 20, 2012 at 7:02 pm #882123I can’t think of any reason why your piece would be devalued by having a spelling error on the pad fixed, unless you fixed the error yourself π

Ooooh…shudders….I would never do that! π
Thanks again for the great service. No, you actually shipped the dragon to Melody with new felt and she had to sign and spell it all over again, then ship it out to me. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience!!
June 22, 2012 at 4:38 pm #882253I sometimes spell my name wrong too…seriously…
June 22, 2012 at 7:32 pm #882261That’s why I “scribble” my signature! hahahaha
