There was a unicorn with stripes on it, I saw it in the windstone facebook page “ebay things from the past”- the caption says he was painted like a Quagga, by Helen Ross Miskin? I like the stripes on that one, with the brown and white. A black and white striped one could be nice too, but I think the mixture, like with the okapis or the quagga one, are better. But I’d love to see either one 😀
Helen painted the quaggas… I don’t want to step on her toes by painting those, too! I will try zebras. 🙂

May 8, 2011 at 4:57 am #844786I would love to see a zebra unicorn done by you, Jennifer. I would definitely bid on it 🙂 The one other idea that springs to mind is a Clydesdale unicorn. I have a PYO a forum painted for me and it is great.
May 8, 2011 at 2:11 pm #844792I will start on them this week! 🙂

May 14, 2011 at 1:10 am #845266I have a male unicorn done! I don’t have eyes or a horn to fit him though. Do you guys want creepy eye-less and horn-less photos or would you rather wait for the auction photos?

My art: featherdust.comMay 14, 2011 at 1:12 am #845267I’m fine with a creepy eyeless, hornless photo. I can photoshop them in if I really wanted to! I’m just itching to see how you painted him. Pics please!

Okay! I will get some tomorrow in the daylight if I can. Zebra stripes are very hard to translate onto a flowing mane!

I apologize. It’s been miserable here for three days… non stop pouring rain. I take my photos outside because my inside lighting is pretty bad. I hope we don’t flood again…!

Its okay. I just really want to see him! The wait is kinda exciting because I know someone actually painted it.
May 15, 2011 at 5:19 pm #845380I went out with an umbrella onto my deck! These are pretty crummy snapshots, I was cold and wet so the focus leaves a lot to be desired.
Sorry if his eyeless-ness and hornless-ness is creepy!!
He is painted to look like a Burchell’s Zebra. The stripes are hard to translate without looking goofy. His necklace has a large natural peridot in it and two CZ accents.Zebras don’t have manes like this so I tried my best to make it look zebra-ish while still making it look natural. If that makes any sense!

My art: featherdust.comMay 15, 2011 at 5:24 pm #845381Wow, I like it a lot! I don’t usually really like the zebra/tiger/leopard stuff but this guy is beautiful, especially the rump area. I think the mane looks lovely too! It brings the pattern back to fantasy 🙂

Please visit My Webpage to see my art and PYO's that I've done in the past!May 15, 2011 at 5:52 pm #845386He is GORGEOUS Jen. I’ll be waiting for when he goes to Ebay. You got the lighter brown stripes with the black stripes to blend perfectly.
May 15, 2011 at 6:55 pm #845389He is awesome! I like how you did his mane – it looks great. And I don’t think he looks creepy at all. Thanks for posting the pictures.
