Hope everyone is doing better than I am today.. I was rudely awoken by the mail lady. When I walked outside I was so happy that she did. My Protoceritops came in!!!! I couldnt wait to open it…. I opened it….. I cried…. Why cant people pack? Out of 3 Windstones I bought from eBay I have received 2 broken… THIS SUCKS!!!!!! How can someone continue their collection if they cant get one in one piece…. I think for now on. I will only ship with UPS.. USPS does not know how to handle parcels… Ok, I think I am a little better now… Still sad, but I at least got to get it out… Thanks guys…Thats rotten . So sorry they arrived broke . People just don’t think when they send something . Kyrn will repair them . She’s good at it and she is availble to help you .

That really sucks, and that is an easy one to pack well too (they are fairly compact). I’ve gotten things by USPS and UPS, but it generally comes down to how well the item is packed. Unfortunately, many sellers, no matter how well you advise or tell them how to pack, just seem to ignore and pack poorly anyways. 🙁 Contact ebay and the seller and see if anything comes of it. Maybe you can get your money back. The protoceratops do come up often enough on ebay at least, so hopefully you can still get one that survives the trip.
Thankfully, there are people like drag0nfeathers and Kyrin on the forum who can also repair pieces that arrive broken, saving rarer pieces, including OOAK ebay pieces, from just ending up in the trash.
I, too, just hate hate hate this!!! It is such a shame and a time and money burn.
In my experience with this (which, unfortunately, is rich) you have two options:
Return the item to seller for full refund: You will never recoup purchase price, as seller will not pay return shipping. So you paid shipping for nothing. 🙁
Offer seller a price for the broken item: You bought a broken piece and must now find and pay someone to do the repair. And pay shipping both ways, if the repair is not local. For a piece that will never be “mint” (if it was before the break).
I, too, am suffering at the hands of a WS broken in shipping from an eBay transaction, so believe me, I feel your pain. I hope you can get a resolution you are satisfied with.

even with the best intentions, some still come broken….I recently bought a white male unicorn off ebay….seller did try to follow the ebay link I sent….sadly the inner box was a bit too small for the horn and it snapped off at the base….I was refunded though and I will try to fix the horn myself…..sucks that your’s didn’t arrive safely too…

My mom was so nice to remind me that it is actually 3 for 3 with eBay purchases. The one that made it was bought from me but purchased through another accout sent to another house so that dont count. I guess I a have just real bad luck with eBay. The nerve wrecking thing is, I have an old green young still floating out there and she was bought on eBay…. :O
I got a hold of the seller briefly and they asked me to send pictures to them. They seem to be worried about it.. So that is better than the scenerio with the white wizard.
Thanks for the info on the WS angels.. Unfortunately, this was suppose to be a Christmas present for someone and I know I cant get it fixed by then. The fortunate thing is, when I finally calmed down and reopened it, it is only the egg shell and it is just a bunch of large chuncks around the base.
First time in 4 years I have been able to afford me some Windstones and already breaking my heart. The good side is Melody Pena knows how to pack her WS so my PYOs made it and I can take some frustration out on them (paint them that is) lol… 😉
Y’all keep your fingers crossed for me please that my young green makes it safe….
Man, that stinks. It actually takes EFFORT to break one of those. They don’t have long horns or tails at all that are the norm to break. If I ever buy pieces on ebay I ALWAYS send them a link to the packing totorial, message them to ask if the double box, and also offer additional to ship it correctly if I feel the shipping seems low. It does help in most cases. Unfortunately, some people just don’t care.
